I actually have a liftetime membership on the Ainge train ;D All aboard!!! I'm all good with him being in charge. Even if he send a kid like Reed away. JR is free for the plucking next season. I hold out hope for getting him back one day.

I like the way getting rid of Reed opened up pt for Gomes, who I think can be better.

There's still close to a month left for Ainge to do something. He wants a PG for security in case Delonte or Orien go down. He and Doc also want a scorer off the bench.
Flip Murray fits this mold, but if he's traded for, he probably won't be in the long term plans.
Going after Will Bynum could make more sense because he's a fiesty scorer who can handle some spot PG duties, and he already knows some of our system from playing with the team in summer league and preseason games.
I hope Ainge can make a move to improve our bench.

I am glad to see all you guys that posted pre-wally saying that you didn't want him and that he was a poormans Peja. After reading all this positive trade talk on the other threads, I was beginning to think everyone was crazy. Thank you for being rational and agreeing that we are paying WAYYY too much for this guy, and giving up too much...it's a real relief to see that not everyone is on Satan Ainge's bandwagon to oblivion Is wally really over paid? Check out contracts guys like Bobby Simmons and Larry Hughes got as FAs. If Wally was a free agent this summer. He would get 10-11 mill a season from someone guaranteed.

We have 3 trade exceptions that will be expiring soon.
1) approx. 1.3 mil 2/8/06 2) approx. 1.4 mil 2/24/06 3) approx. 2.7 mil 8/2/06
I don't see Danny letting assets like that just expire without using them. I am not sure on the conditions put on these exceptions, like can they be included with a player, can they be combined. I am expecting Danny to do something before the 8th to get some value for this.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's going to use one or two of those exemptions. They cannot be packaged together, though.
I say most likely Kandi and an exemption will be the trade we can look forward too.

Id like to see us pick a vet PG with one of the trade exceptions. a mark jackson type who can be just as much coach as player. Id also like to se us trade Kandi for an IR contract and a pick. Anything would be a plus compared to this loaf. THe guy just doesnt like playing basketball.

After watching tonight's game I really hope Danny is looking for a scorer for our second team. We have no one who can score on that team. I see flashes of what Gomes can be if he can get playing time. He can take it to the basket and is really good hanging around for put backs. I think if PP and Wally can get some practice time and can learn to play together, along with Raef and West, the starters should have enough offense but we just have no one except Al who can score on the bench. And Al hasn't been scoring all that much lately either.
We need someone who can score consistenly off the bench. We also need someone to bring energy to this team. We were just so lackluster out there. We will miss that from Ricky and need someone to step up with that kind of hustle and to bring energy and get the team fired up. Perk and West are capable but seem to do it one game and then back off and step into the shadows the next. We need consistency!!!

Yep, you hit it right on the button, FL. This team played lacklusterly and was missing a scorer off the bench.
It seemed like no one cared to play the second half. We were right in the game for a good quarter and a half. But at the halfway point of the second quarter, the second unit got in and started to let the score slide a bit, and we were never able to recover.
Ricky was our spark, our initiator. He was a guy whose attitude was always ready to go at someone. Now that he's gone, we don't have anyone with that flair to get the team rev'd up.

Call me what you might... I could see DA bringing back Justin Reed, as his contract is up after this season.
My wish-fill'd thinking?
