Call me what you might... I could see DA bringing back Justin Reed, as his contract is up after this season. My wish-fill'd thinking? yes ;D

Ok, its inevitable that a trade is going to happen. We are going down the tube very quickly and Ainge risks the threat of the losing any remaining fans left in Boston. I'm all about the future, but if Doc keeps neglecting the young players, we don't have much of a future.
Question is--who will be traded?
Kandi? Probably--but with Al going down, there might be some hesitation to move a big man.
Gerald Green? We've heard some rumors that Green was dangled, but Seattle wouldn't part with Robert Swift.
Pierce? He's always in the middle of trade talks, but I don't think Ainge trades him in midseason (he seems to save big trades for the offseason).
Wally? We're hearing that there are offers for Wally right now. But if Ainge is already going to trade him, it means that the deal was premeditated from before the Minnesota trade, and the true deal which forced Ricky Davis out of here (I didn't feel that he was the problem here) is about to take place.
Jefferson? Well, now that he's injured for possibly 3 weeks or more, it might stall trade talks. But unless we are getting a star player in return, I don't see Ainge moving Jefferson.

I think these trade talks are premmature. I think coahing change is far more likely. Part of the question is are the young guys and team developing. I'd say Perk and West are, Jefferson isn't (which must be killing Dan) Oriene is, and Gerald is developing but far more slowly than thought, and he might not be as good as thought. Also Tony Allen is regressing. So apparently young guys can develop with Doc, but maybe very slowly and maybe they would have developed faster or anyway with someone else. Banks also didn't develop here, Reed did, and maybe Gomes has. I think it's dumb for DA to try to trade for an already developed young guy like Swift for a guy with probably more talent like Green, without even seeing a full two seasons from Green when the players aren't the problem cause the coach is. I also am not sure there are tons of coaches in the league that have successfully developed so many young guys especially when they had older stars. The young Bulls went through tremedous problems, so are the young Raptors. Young teams don't do well unless the young guys come into the league already good and fundamentally sound, like when the Bulls got lucky and finally got Gordon, Duhon, Deng, and Nocioni, and young guys usually aren't developed unless they play like 3 years in college which nobody does now. Also I guarantee you if someone like Swift comes here it will stunt their growth and don't be surprised at all to see a resurgence from Al J if he goes. Banks might have a resurgence although I am not betting on it

The way Ainge speaks to the media, it just seems to point to another trade. Maybe not a mega deal like the Ricky trade, but possibly a smaller degree, to get us some bench help.
Tony Allen is missing his explosiveness, but he's only been cleared to lift weights using his surgically repaired knee a few days ago. This offseason, with a big time emphasis on regaining his strength in his knee, we should see the same explosiveness from Tony Allen that made him an instant fan favorite among Celtics fans (just take a look at last year's Rookie All-Star game to see how explosive Tony Allen is when he's healthy). I still have high hopes for Tony and think next season, we will see a big improvement in his game. He's one of our best slashers (along with Orien Greene).
Perkins, Delonte, and Tony Allen should be bigger contributors next year. That in itself, will give Pierce and Wally some breathing room.

Clear it out boys!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indiana Trade Breakdown Outgoing Scot Pollard 6-11 C from Kansas 3.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.2 apg in 14.7 minutes Austin Croshere 6-10 PF from Providence 8.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.2 apg in 25.4 minutes Incoming Brian Scalabrine 6-9 PF from USC 2.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 10.8 minutes Raef LaFrentz 6-11 C from Kansas 7.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 23.8 minutes Change in team outlook: -2.4 ppg, -3.7 rpg, and 0.0 apg.
Boston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Brian Scalabrine 6-9 PF from USC 2.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 10.8 minutes Raef LaFrentz 6-11 C from Kansas 7.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 23.8 minutes Incoming Scot Pollard 6-11 C from Kansas 3.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.2 apg in 14.7 minutes Austin Croshere 6-10 PF from Providence 8.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.2 apg in 25.4 minutes Change in team outlook: +2.4 ppg, +3.7 rpg, and 0.0 apg.
Successful Scenario Due to Indiana and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

I'm really digging the Garnett rumors. Thinking Raef, Jefferson and multiple picks get moved for GArnett. Ainge continues to try to trade Gerald for Robert Swift giving us a championship roster of
PG-West SG-Pierce SF-Wally PF-Garnett C-Perkins
6th man-Green or Swift bench-ORien Greene, Tony Allen, Gomes, Scalabrine
Id like to have Green and Swift as up and comers off the bench, but not sure how that will happen. Wally may also be moved again not sure.

I think we'd have to give them more than Raef, Al and multiple picks. Like take a dog back and put TA, Gomes, and 3 million dollas on the table as well. Maybe then. But i would love that roster.

Quiniela I like your Indy trade scenario and would do that one in a heartbeat.
I also see that Brevin Knight is being offered and wouldn't mind bringing him in. Put him in the starting lineup and move West to the bench playing with Greene.

An idea I had last night was LaFrentz to Sacramento for Skinner and Williamson.
Miller is hurt, and Raef can fill his role on offense with his shooting and passing. He can also give similar shot blocking, though he is not the rebounder Miller is.
Skinner and Williamson don't play that much this year because of a log-jam caused by Thomas and SAR, but when he played last year Skinner was a solid rebounder and energetic defender, which we could use at the PF since AJ is hurt. The past two games Perk has been a one-man gang on the glass and could use some help. Williamson may be able to give us the scoring off the bench we need. Plus Williamson's contract expires next year, and Skinner has only one more guaranteed year on his deal, since the last year is a team option.
Obviously, this deal would depend on the Maloofs not minding to spend the money to upgrade their back-up center position. But since Skinner and Williamson seem the odd men out regarding Sacramento's rotation, talent wise it seems an even trade.

lafrentz could end up in denver for some kind of package including andre miller. that is of course when kenyon gets traded.
but i see olowowowowowokandi and clevelands first in 2007 go to gsw for murphy and calbert chaney package before deadline
