I remember that guy. Among Centers, he and Perkins were at the top of the high school list. But he had trouble keeping his weight in check.

I have a question about Gerald Green going to the NBDL. I thought the celtics affiliate was the Florida Flame but i see that Green is plyaing for Fayetteville. I don't understand why. Could it be that the Florida flame roster is full or did Danny Ainge decide which team he wanted Green to play for? Anyway i was just curious as to how the whole system works. Derren, hopefully you can give an answer or your opinion.

Boston is assigned to the Flame as their affiliate. But Danny went to the league office and made the case that the Flame were loaded with wing players and that if GG went there he wouldn't get many minutes and he is putting him in the Dleague to get playing time. So he asked if he could go to the Patriots since they could use help at that spot and the league agreed.

Will Gerald Green replace Paul Pierce in the starting lineup next year? No. I think Gerald Green will force Ricky Davis out of the starting lineup in two years if Ricky is still here. Gerald is still pretty raw.

They sure don't have a hard time grasping offensive strategies. It's the new generation eja. Crossovers, dunks, no-look passes, behind the back passes, spin moves. (I'm actually from that generation) But nobody when their young on the playground picks up a basketball, gets 4 other people and says. "Hey yo, let's practice the box in one defense." When kids grow up playing basketball they look to be flashy, get attention, give a good show if people are watching, and score the basketball. They just practice shooting, dribbling, passing, and just basically trying to put the ball in the basket. A lot of kids do not even understand the fundamentals of the game, even at college...even in the pros we see it. (Marcus? Chauncey w/ the Celts) In high school or college for sure, hopefully if they have good coaching they can learn these things and hone their skills, and get taught the fundamentals of team basketball, and team defense. This is what DM is saying. Well, anyway that's my theory on why defense is harder than offense for the newer generation of basketball players.

Stopping guys from scoring was the thing at the gym I loved doing more than anything. I'd love to see some dude dribble 95 different ways, and try to dribble through my legs, but they could never do that. I mean seriously. Then you get the ball and start a fast break, and be like "honestly you shouldn't try that because you're just not good enough" and make sure everyone understands you don't respect players like that. That would make them so mad so they'd try something even fancier and it would never work. In the mean time you just never turn the ball over and outrebound them. Those were the days.

If only there were more players like you, Eja. But unfortunately, not enough players think like that, and too many players only think about looking good scoring. I mean, I hardly even see any pick and rolls on the courts anymore. Whenever I play 2 on 2, it usually turns into a rotation of 1 on 1, where guys take turn isolating.

Derren, the stats on Green are on the top of this thread, page 5.
I posted the stats first, then had another entry for the recap. Same game (thursday). Somewhat confusing, but I wanted to post what I had first, then any information afterwards.
