Don't get me wrong. I'd rather he wait until he can do it. I just am eager to see it.

Actually, it seemed at Texas A&M, he shot midranges with mixed results. But he’s almost abonded it altogether at the moment. Maybe implement a baby hook?

One of the greatest things to see on this team is the major growth spurts we’re seeing from RWill. His confidence is quickly growing as he realizes not only can he play in the NBA, but that he is capable of doing what not many big men can do. m.youtube.com/watch?v=V3S1UyG0fwYIt’s funny cause I think RWill is surprising himself!

I watched the highight link and was happy to see that of his 6 blocks, I think we got the ball back 5 times. Good to see that rather than just sending the ball into the third row.
The other thing is that he showed some impressive skill/touch on that alley-oop he put in with his back to the hoop. That's not an easy play.
He seems to have a quick mind. He doesn't hold the ball but rather makes quick decisions.
I don't know if he and Theis are true centers or not, whatever that means, but they are both doing a helluva job. It'll be interesting to see how Brad integrates Kanter into this mix.

RWill is a quick reaction athlete, and a superb one. Really, his ceiling is incredibly high, and only he’ll stop himself from getting there. Again, he’s putting in the time, making big strides, and his confidence is growing each game.

He had a real dud of a game yesterday against the Kings. 7 minutes played and -13 in +/-. I'd like to see him bounce back from this tonight.

Time is key for his development. Long-term in the next couple season, I can see him getting into a solid 25-30 minute rotational minutes as long as he keep working on positional defense and rebounding. He need to do less going for the home run block shot while work more on positioning his man away from the basket. Too much gambling on blocking shots which in return are costing easy baskets and defensive rebounds that would have a bigger impact on the defensive end.

He made a 15 foot jump shot today. Scal said he makes them in pregame warmups, but it'd be a pretty big deal if he could do that in-game consistently.

I think he also made a short left handed jump hook. I don't remember seeing that shot either. Good to see progress.

Gotta give him some props for the last game. Aggressive on the boards. It was a game where Kanter didn't really fit in (matchup wise) as Miami has a lot of spacing and Williams did well.

Williams does 3 or 4 things really well, however not enough to value him over a veteran center, like Theis for example. Last game, he had one roll play where like he got the lob, and only had to go up 50% to make the basket. Hence, he just needs to expand his play.

Brad wants him to learn to be in the right spots, and places greater emphasis on being in the right place vs. blocking a ton of shots. Theis is a good example for Rob to observe. Thinking RWill has a chance to do both well.

In a lot of ways, I think BOS staff is reteaching Williams. With the [HASH]27 selection, well worth the gamble.

Unfortunate he keeps missing playing time cause it’s hindering his development. But I’m really interested to know what we have in this young man. Like you said, RR, it’s like our coaching staff needs to re-teach him in every aspect of the Center position.
Does this coaching staff, does Ainge see a championship caliber starting Center in Robert Williams? Do they think he has a good chance to reach that potential?

I feel that our championship goals kind of hinges on Robert Williams.
We know that he has the tools to be a force at the 5, but will he reach that level we need him to?
With Kemba, Hayward, Tatum, Jaylen, Smart, and looking over the horizon at Grant Williams and Romeo Langford (possibly even Tremont Waters and Carsen Edwards), we’re set at positions 1 - 4.
