I was watching the DAL highlights, and it dawned on me that Brown has vastly improved his handles, and/or decision making. D/Jmost commented on control, and runrondo commented on a leap. I would like to think that USAB, and BOS having a clear pecking order have attributed.

Jaylen has gone from being an afterthought, to one of my favorite players so far early this season. Finally is putting it altogether — skills to go along with his great athleticism.
He’s being utilized for his post up moves more frequently, making him an even greater threat.
One benefit of Kemba and Hayward being out is Jaylen has more chances to take over the scoring load.
And he’s passing the ball much better too. The game is slowing down for him, and his decision making is quicker.

JB has made a huge leap. I find myself wanting us to go to him when we need a hoop. I think we could still go to him more, but at least he's not being relegated to standing in the corner and hoping the ball finds him.
Last year I was saying (at least on days when I was high on him) that I thought Jaylen could wind up surpassing Jayson. I don't think many would have agreed, and maybe most still wouldn't, but I think it's a legit question.

After seeing Tatum take a fadeaway, leaning 3 pointer (when we're up by 1) and leaving 5 seconds on the clock last night, I'm happy that Brown does not seem to care for those kind of shots. He has worked more on the post/inside fadeaways and finishing better around the rim. I love how he's using the pump fake and Tommy said it best "when he came into the league he was just trying to overpower everybody". Now, he seems in control and his finishing shows that.

Definitely enjoying how he's playing right now especially he has improve in all statistical categories including free throw pct! It took awhile for him to get here but, I'm glad Ainge did not dump him off for veteran rentals or less talented center for roster balance. I'm expecting to see him continue his growth as a young player and hoping he reaches the upper echleon of stars in this league.

I don't think many would have agreed, and maybe most still wouldn't, but I think it's a legit question. He’s definitely closing in on him, and the gap is narrower than before. But I think we saw in the Clippers game that Tatum outdueled Paul George (at least in this contest) and showed he could very well be in that group. I really want to see Jaylen show out against the elites — legitely beat them one on one. But I think he’s getting there. His game is at another level, and his confidence is rising. He has to believe that he can hang with All-Stars (which, ironically, I don’t really think he did before, though that was always his goal).

I would value Brown over Tatum, if I had to choose. First, Brown plays better defense. Second he is more consistent.

Watching Jaylen use his strength, and not just his athleticism, to get to the hoop, I was reminded of Kawhi. Compare Jaylen in this, his 4th year, with Kawhi Leonard's 4th year stats. Jaylen shoots a higher percentage, both from 2 and 3, overall is scoring about 3.4 PPG more, and is comparable to Kawhi in rebounds and assists. He trails is FT percentage but at least is trending in the right direction. And he's clearly still improving at an impressive rate. www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/leonaka01.htmlwww.basketball-reference.com/players/b/brownja02.html

Tell me about it. I was asking for a leap and this man is over delivering. I hope we find ways to keep feeding him the ball even when we're fully healthy.

In your opinion, what has been Jaylen’s biggest improvement?

Decision Making.
He used to drive as quick as possible with a predetermined move and now he's pump faking and casually making the right play as he takes his time on drives.

I agree. JB now seems to almost always make the right play, rarely forcing anything. But he's also shown great improvement in absorbing contact and still finishing successfully, and he's developed great touch on the in-the-lane fall-away shots.
