If you are a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers, then kindly go away back to your own fan board and enjoy your team there.
But if you can’t stand that team, and especially its players, then this is the place for you!
I once was a fan of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. I cheered for them when they were in college, and even hoped we could draft them. But their personalities that I see now has soured on me. Embiid is way cocky, and Simmons is sort of unlikeable (he’s a punk, really). Both are super talented, and deserving of stardom, but I won’t be cheering for them (will be cheering against them).
Jimmy Butler is another guy who is hard to like. But his is more oncourt than anything he’s done off of it.
This 2018-2019 Sixers team is assembled for a very near sighted run at the title (they’ve traded away much of their future assets at a shot to win this year). On paper, they are a scary team. But they haven’t jelled nicely, and Embiid’s knee is giving him problems, and odds are against them getting out of the east. Should the eliminate the Nets, their next round opponent will be the Raptors, who should be a major threat to their goal.
Once the Sixers are eliminated, I’ll have a satisfactory smile on my face 😬

I've always liked them more than the Knicks and liked Iverson back in the day and Dr. J and Barkley, but I do not like this group at all

Yeah, I liked some of their other teams (the Clarence Weatherspoon era), but this one totally irritates me. It may have started from our battle for accumulating draft picks a few years ago, when Ainge and Hinkie were more interested in stockpiling assets than winning.
But my dislike really turned serious when Embiid and Simmons came on the scene and started acting like they were the new big men on campus, even though they had proved nothing yet.
Does it tell you something when Marcus Smart, and now Jared Dudley full on bull rush Embiid? This guy is cocky and obnoxious!

I'm not a huge fan of the "hype" they generate even though they've accomplished nothing. People act like they're one of the favorites in the East and I don't think they deserve it even with their talented lineup. People really underrate Leonard/Raptors and Greek/Bucks as they're really great teams (not to mention us).
Simmons is really overrated - if you swap him for a guard who can shoot I'd think they'd deserve the talk Embiid is really a beast and he's the type of guy you love to have and hate to play against in terms of the talking/cockiness. Butler is a guy I don't like for the way he handled the Twolves situation - he acts like he's a proven winner or something. Guy has never won anything and talks as if he's the only reason a team has a chance - he's good, but not that good.
However, I'm rooting for them to beat the Raptors as they'd be the easier matchup if we manage to get by the Bucks.

My dislike is Embiid's cheap shots. There were (2) this series with Brooklyn, and another with BOS in the regular season.

Embiid is talented as heck. That’s what drives the nail deeper in my dislike for him. Because of how good he is, it makes me want our guys to silence his boastful mouth even more.
Yeah, Simmons is a heck of a player as well. But force him to play the perimeter, and he gets out of his comfort zone.

With Embiid, if a team disrupts his post-ups and forces him outside, he gets lazy and starts taking 3s which he is average at best.

What satisfaction that Toronto destroyed the Sixers in game 1. Embiid and Simmons both were completely shut down. In contrast, Leonard and Siakam owned them.

On one hand, I want PHI to lose (just because), on the other hand I want PHI to win, because BOS owns them.

Bucks/Greek Freek and the Sixers have obvious weaknesses we can exploit - Raptors not so much as Leonard is probably the best player in the East on both ends and can shoot well. I'll root for the Sixers, but won't be too disappointed if they get swept or lose in 5 games too.

I think BOS matches up well with the teams left in the East. I said before, its like paper/rock/scissor.

If Embiid is truely hurt, which I think he is, I would like to see PHI win. Brand consolidated assets, while BOS still has an entire war chest to burn.

Even though this is the Sixers dislike thread (and i'd love to get to play them to beat them), I gotta admit I'm having a good time rooting for the Blazers out in the west. I don't think they can get over the massive obstacle of Warriors or Rockets, but I'm going to root for it.

Embiid has a rare combination of being bigger than almost everyone, and simultaneously being whiny as hell. I think he's a classic bully. Happy picking on smaller guys, but turning to mush when truly challenged. As pointed out he resorts to chucking up threes when he can't bully his way inside.
Simmons is a great open court player but is almost useless in the half court. Watch him sometime rather than following the ball and all he does is try to offensive rebound. Plus he's a bad foul shooter. But when he gets a lane to the hoop and throws one down he acts like he's something really special.
Two arrogant guys, who haven't proven anything. I hope they get blown out in Toronto in Game 7 and Butler decides to leave. Unfortunately they have a ton of cap space.
