Embiid couldn't do anything inside against Gasol and wound up 6-18 in Game 7. Simmons made one shot outside of layup range, a very short hook shot. He's useless in the halfcourt. It's kind of amazing that an NBA All-Star can't shoot at all. Really glad they lost to the Raptors.
btw, if you haven't seen the end of Game 7 it's worth a look.

Even for a BOS Celtics fan, that ending for the Sixers in game [HASH]7 was brutal.

Even for a BOS Celtics fan, that ending for the Sixers in game [HASH]7 was brutal. Wished they got swept, but yeah, that game winner by Kawhi over the outstretched arms of Embiid (watch him look shell shocked) was satisfying.

I wonder if Butler will stay in Philly. Will he be satisfied being the third guy?
Unfortunately for us, Sixers are in a much better cap situation than we are.

Talking heads are saying the Sixers future is murky. Starting with Joel Embiid — a young big man who already has serious foot, knee, and back issues that have forced philly to limit his playing time. He has a quickly approaching expiration date. Do you give the max to him? Do you move him before he falls apart?
Ben Simmons could be great — except he can’t shoot from anywhere outside of 6 feet. A majorly flawed potential superstar, who can’t become a superstar without fixing his huge problem.

Embiid is already under a max contract for 2 additional seasons.
PHI is at a crossroads. From what I have read, they have 1-year to make use of their cap space which is one of the reasons they gambled with Harris.

I think Simmons is up for his second contract after next year, so that will take a chunk out of their cap space.
On a side note, is there a bigger difference between two stars than Embiid and Kawhi? The first wears his emotions on his face for all to see, whereas you never know what the latter is thinking.

Kind of like Bird and Magic. I'm somewhere in between. I like players who know how to control themselves, but also show a fair amount of emotion when it calls for it.

It was very satisfying to see them get beat the way they did. The issue that Philly has is that both of their guys are lazy and do you pay guys who are lazy and entitled max contracts? Embid doesn't take care of his body that is why he has so many health issues due to the extra weight he carries. Simmons needs to work on a shot instead of chasing Kardashians in the offseason, him wearing a shooting sleeve is an oxymoron.

Well the band of douche bags are still too full of themselves after still not accomplishing anything. This is the only team that may be more overrated than the Fakers this year as they are a lot of people's favorites in the East and I just don't see it as currently constructed. I hope the rest of the team has the same invalidated overconfidence that James Ennis has: James Ennis III: 76ers Can Walk to Finals in East After Kawhi Joins Clippers bleacherreport.com/articles/2845061-james-ennis-iii-76ers-can-walk-to-finals-in-east-after-kawhi-joins-clippers

I’ll be honest, I’m not so keen on Horford as I used to be. A lot of it has to do with him going to Philly and saying flowery things about them, but also because he didn’t step up in the lockerroom to knock some sense into the young players, including Kyrie. I mean, even the ever peaceful Ojeleye shouted out obscenity at his team for playing poorly — Al did no such thing.
I’ll go on disliking Philly, and I do hope they fall short of their lofty goal.

Personally I think Al is pretty soft. Good on defense. Good shooter. But mostly soft most of the time. Tries to step up occasionally and sometimes does, but to me he was soft. There's a huge difference between him and a Marcus Smart

Horford is always an enigma for me. He's a bit boring because he's good at the less idolized things and isn't flashy in any regard: stats, offensive moves, etc. I can agree that he's "underrated", but I always thought he was "overpaid" even when we signed him at 30 years old as a max contract. I think both can happen simultaneously even though I understand he'll always get that contract in the NBA market because you gotta sign whatever you can take and he was a good grab at the time because there's always the fear that we can't sign free agents in this world where everyone wants to go to LA or NY.
I think, at 33, i'm glad we didn't pay him and I hope he does get booed for joining Philly when he comes back to play against us.

I thought Al was breaking down last year. He missed several games for his knee. Would be interesting to know what the fair offer Danny made.
