I think this season will determine a lot about IT's value to the team. If the Celtics can upgrade the roster so that they have more offense we shall see how he can play as more of a distributor. Unless Avery is traded this season or Marcus, one of them is going to have to go. But I think how the rest of the offseason goes and how the season goes will determine a lot that we can't know now.

Just watched Tatum make 10 straight three point shots in a competition with Brown. Everyone is still hoping to get Hayward, but I don't think we should be too surprised if our two young forwards contribute a lot this year.

He's pretty advanced for his age. But defense will dictate how many minutes he'll play.

I can't wait for Summer League to see these guys play together. I'm anxious to see an improved Jaylen and see what Jayson can do and to see how Nader plays this year after being rookie of the year in the D League. I'm anxious to see Zizic most of all.

Report that Celtics will more than likely waive Tyler Zeller tomorrow ahead of deadline for his $8 million contract to be guaranteed for next year.

Thanks for posting that! I love that these two will grow together. They are going to be an All Star tandem in time.

The Boston Celtics have requested waivers on Tyler Zeller Another non-dog taken off the roster. We're weeding them out like weeds.

According to Gary Washburn:
Four-year deal for Hayward. Now it's likely Jae Crowder is on the trade market, Atlanta may be his next destination.
Jae for a 1st round pick? Would that work? Would that be good for us?

I was thinking about this around 5am and I realized Avery, Jae, and Smart could work very well for us in certain situations. The Suns. Orlando, LA Clippers. And now that I think of it Hawks. Also Jazz, but I think they'd be too proud to do that.
I hope Ainge can get first rounders with top ten protection that slides down to no protection, but I would be surprised.
All those teams could use some help and all of them are teams we want to do well so our Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Philly, Memphis, and Brooklyn picks stay good. You don't want the Kings and Lakers to surpass anyone.
Also it might be great if the Clippers had some defenders to punch the Warriors in the mouth during the playoffs

Also it might be great if the Clippers had some defenders to punch the Warriors in the mouth during the playoffs This is what worries me about giving up Smart, Avery or Jae... All are very tough defenders and form the heart of our defense. The defense slipped a bit last season and I'm afraid that they are going to sacrifice more defense for offense this season. Hopefully Jaylen and Jayson both work harder on defense because we will need it. I know we need offense, but defense still wins, especially in the playoffs.

I think both JB and JT can and will be better defenders than Jae - who works hard and is strong, but not particularly quick or long. And I think both JB and JT will be plenty tough.
Marcus makes some spectacular plays but isn't really a defensive stopper. Bradley is as good an on-the-ball defender as there is in the NBA, and if that's his main task, shines in that role. I think maybe he was asked to do too much on the defensive boards last year and it took it's toll on him. He's the guy I think we'd miss the most on the defensive end. I also think Rozier could turn into an excellent defender.

Seems it's pretty serious Ainge is trying move Jae, Bradley and Smart. ESPN and NBAtv are reporting it.
Smart to OKC is being discussed.
