The Bulls come to town looking for a win after losing at the hands of the Knicks the other night. Much like us, the Bulls showcase a lot of young talent who will be the future of the team. But unlike us, the Bulls have already turned their team over to the youths and have got a jumpstart on the rebuilding project. Last year, they were the surprise team of the NBA, winning a lot of games with their superior defense. This year, they are off to a slow start, going 7 - 6 so far. But they still can be dangerous.
We are coming off a big, feel-good win over the 76'ers, with the icing on the cake coming in the form of the 6'10" rebounding beast we call "Perk". He totally dominated the boards on both ends, with 8 of his 19 rebounds coming on the offensive end.
As Doc pointed out, we did a terrific job defensively on the 76'ers. Though you might not think that, seeing how Iverson scored 40 pts and Webber finishing with 28. But Iverson shot a woeful 11 - 27, and Webber did just as bad, shooting 11 - 26.
Defense is the name of the game, and with Perkins starting in the middle for us again, we can be sure that he will do his best to give us that defensive presence and energy.
If we can maintain our strong rebounding effort (pulled down an unheard of 59 boards last night), we can win this game. We are one of the league's best offensive teams, ranking in the top 10 in scoring average, in the top 4 in FG% and top 5 in assists. Scoring is not a problem. Rebounding and defending is our weakness, but let's hope the last game illustrates to all of our players, the importance of rebounding.
