Ok, aside from missing 2 key starters (Horford and Crowder), one reason (and possibly the biggest reason) why Brad says we're struggling is because we're soft.
We are not playing with physicality.
Last year, that was one of our reasons for success. We played hard, tough, physical defense. For some reason, early this season, we haven't been.
Well, I'd stop playing Tyler Zeller so much, if that's the case. Sully added toughness in the paint, and we don't have him anymore. Zizic isn't here yet.

In Brad's interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiNRaHHjUAY) I think he's seen this tendency in last game too, and feels responsible he didn't do anything about changing our demeanor.
I bet we come out aggressive and physical next game.

I hate to say I told you so.. Whiteside was a better signing than horford.. There is no answer here .. It's not on the roster.. Jordan had a good game..

You didn't say anything that we didn't know already. No one argues with you that we are not getting it done defensively and on the boards. Many of us just aren't ready to say the sky is falling without seeing how we play with our full team playing how we are capable of playing.

I think they lose a lot of their toughness when Jae is out. Also Marcus Smart. We were missing Marcus for the first three games and now Jae since he came back. I want to see them at full strength and I also want to give them a couple weeks and then we can say it isn't working. I'd love to have Zizic on this team in place of Zeller, who really isn't very tough. But Danny must have had a reason for leaving him in Europe this year. Perhaps he sees this year as being another building year since Cleveland and Golden State are likely to be at the top with little to no chance to topple either and with the Spurs right there as well. Next year may be his target to really contend and this is just a step up.

And the reason I'm not pushing any panic buttons is because over the many many years I've been on this board, I've come to realize that Ainge knows what hes doing. Maybe not all the time but most of the time. Sure we've all had our moments blasting him for some of the stuff ups hes made (e.g. FL is still likely extremely pissed he traded away Perkins all these years later haha)...and yes he has stuffed up a few drafts (e.g. not drafting Jimmy Butler) but hes hit on gems time and time again including in his trades. And most importantly, he hired Brad Stevens. I wholeheartedly believe Brad can turn this team around and that Ainge will give him the pieces he needs to win a championship. If a change needs to be made, Ainge will get it done. And if a gameplan needs to be tweaked, Brad will make sure its executed.

We just don't have the proper personnel. Al is a good player..He isn't a championship defensive center..
At some point we have to say this isn't going to work. Losing Sully and Turner is something that was not thought through. Like trading Perkins.
WE have a good coach. Great fans.. Will the front office give us what we need..
Jackson finally got some p.t.. Maybe he is part of the answer..
Last night it wasn't rebounding.. it was team shooting percentage..

Maybe he is part of the answer.. Last night it wasn't rebounding.. it was team shooting percentage.. Yes but again Sully is out. He was an injury time bomb waiting to happen given his pre draft injury history and ongoings even when he was with us. We'd be in the same boat with him that we are in right now i.e. hes on the injury list. As for Turner, would you agree he was worth 70million over 4 years? I dont..and his stats in Portland are now showing it.. 6.9 PPG 2.4 APG and 4.6 RPG...hardly 70million dollars worth. I'm saying wait till the team has a chance to prove itself. 7 games is like being given 2 weeks at your new job to win a multi-million dollar deal or else you're fired..not really fair on the guys. If Ainge sees that we have some needs to address then he'll likely do it closer to the trade deadline where he'd get a better bang for his buck than if he were to pull the trigger too early. With these players hes might be trading for, its also good to see how they play over extended periods of time so we don't end up trading valuable assets for someone who only got streaky hot early.

Well I'm open to listening to alternatives but saying a name like Whiteside isn't realistic given that the Heat own his rights and could offer him more money than we could..who else was there? Or did you mean trade for one? Because I don't know which rebounder was on the trading block unless you were talking about giving up our no.3 pick, and probably bradley and smart for a Demarcus Cousins which would still have set us back in other areas. Once again, do let us know what other options we had.

I am saying I would have made Whiteside a priority and would have signed him vs horford. I would have been very aggressive about trading for a stud rebounder..
It's just dumb to lose your best rebounder,a key defensive player and not replace what they did! Those 2 were a solid part of a lot of our wins and we did NOTHING TO replenish the team .

There isn't a team in the league that can lose 3 of its top 4 bigs and stay competitive, and the loss of Crowder kills our small-ball lineup. Amir managed to make up for it in one game but he cannot do that every night. The only good news is that Brown and Mickey are getting minutes, which should pay off down the road. These are growing pains, we will get through it.

The only problem with that is when Jae and Al played, the numbers were not that good. It was offense not defense that made our wins..
