I saw a report from Kevin O'Connor that the Celtics will be playing the Knicks in NY on Christmas day. It's been 5 years I think since the Celtics have played on Christmas. Also seeing Cavs/Warriors planned for Christmas. Being scheduled on Christmas shows that the Celtics are back in the limelight of the league. The schedule should be out this week.

One of my earliest recollection of how I became a Celtics fan was watching a Christmas game. Early 90's and Bird was already having major problems with his back. But I saw him in action, fell in love, and been a Boston since.

I remember watching a Celtics/Bulls Easter Sunday matchup right around the same time. Those games were always fun.

I love watching the Christmas Day games... although I have to do it between making dinner for family and inlaws and I have to be somewhat unsociable while doing so. But I can usually start talking about my Celtics and get everyone else watching too by the end of the game.

I kinda like the Halloween games. Although I don't remember having watched one in a while I remember Halloween 1997, the Celtics shocked the Bulls on opening night. Pitino's first game. I remember thinking, boy, this team is going places. I thought wrong.

I remember thinking, boy, this team is going places. I thought wrong. I remember he said after he was hired "These players will be in the greatest shape of their lives" and then I went to see his first pre season game at State College PA and he seemed pretty poised. Then they beat the Bulls (without Pippen I think) and I thought "Yeah this is gonna work." Then nope

I really disliked Pitino right from the beginning. I don't like the smirk on his face and when he kicked Red to the curb and insisted on being the president as well as coach, I just never liked him.

All the negativity in this town .......No Rick Pitino you......... Honestly Red wasn't making the best decisions that late in his life.. Pitino is still to this day a narcissistic personality full of himself..

And he deserved better regardless.

I remember when we gave up that lotto pick in the 99 draft for Vitaly Potampenko. Pitino's justification was, 'we already have enough young talent.' He must've been looking at a different team than the one I saw. Andre Miller or Shawn Marion would've looked good in a Celtics uniform.

Pitino did he make any right choices? I can't think of any.. The way he treated Red was definitely wrong..
