Exactly. The "fireworks" comments came from Wyc, not Danny - who runs the team. And he never "gave his word" or "promised" fireworks. He said there could be some fireworks.
"I’ve got confidence that with all these picks and these young guys and our willingness to spend money that we can get there," he told the Globe. "We’re a patient group. We will take a multiyear plan if that’s what it takes. But I think this June there could be some fireworks."
That's what he said in 2014. Ever since there's been a misconception that he promised something. But he didn't. And hasn't.

I am a new user here and I am not sure why you think you can link me with another person. Really shocking from a admin.. Lol.
I knew it was Wyc Grousebeck who started the fireworks pledge. If I said otherwise I was wrong .. If this old mans memory serves me correctly Wyc said it on TV with Danny there. Not 100% sure.

Oldtimeball, if you are referring to the quote where I had you saying something that another poster had posted, that was an error on my part (and I did fix it after you brought it to my attention). Its hard at times to type posts from my phone.

Haha yeah I can tell when you post from your phone, DM. Sometimes the quotes get all wonky. If that's what you're referring to Oldtimeball I get what you're saying.

Haha, I'm glad you can tell. Sometimes I'll read what I posted, and I just laugh at myself.

Well it's going to be exciting to see what this team turns into. My hope is that there is a true commitment to excellence from leadership...

Well it's going to be exciting to see what this team turns into. My hope is that there is a true commitment to excellence from leadership... I don't think there's any question about that. Ownership, management and coaches are all about winning. We're lucky, because not all franchises are run that way. Some are content to just make money, win enough to fill the stands and get people to tune in, but no more. The Celtics have always been about championships.

From top to bottom, this is a world class organization that cares not only about winning, but even treating its fans to great experiences. Almost every player who leaves Boston has only good things to say.

Yes it is a great organization and great fans. I don't think that the modern players see that though. I think they seem mode attracted to South Beach. Hollywood. Madison square gardennnnn.. lol.

One of the reasons Horford said he chose us is because he sees the passion of the fans supporting the team. He said it wasn't that way with Hawks fans.

That must be hard as a player. You gotta be self motivated but there are times when you get tired and that energy from the crowd pumps you up.
