Ok, they have officially signed. Zeller, Demetrius Jackson, Ben Bentil and Jaylen Brown are now on the books.
Some are saying this doesn't close the door on any of the trade discussions we are having. We'll see what happens.

I know right! But it helps to pass the time on an otherwise slow and boring offseason.

Looking for "Love" in all the wrong places .....
Now that Zeller is signed, I think the earliest we can trade him is in December. So he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I don't know, to be honest. Zeller saw his minutes and role diminish last year -- so it only follow logic that we give him a raise, right?

The only thing I can think of that makes sense with Zeller signing for that much is that maybe Danny is thinking one step ahead and planning to use that salary in a trade.

[b Makes me wonder which gm really doesn't believe in their team. Typically when you wait that long to make a trade, you want to evaluate it..In DEC everyone should have a good idea of what their team is.. Or Danny could have the kristich flu, he has been smitten on previous occasions.

I'm wondering about the long-term contracts for 2nd round picks Danny has given out the past 2 years. There is a TON of money being thrown at pretty average players around the league, so much that I believe some teams are going to find themselves with very little money to fill out rosters. Are 2nd round picks a cheap way to make sure you have enough bodies to practice and fill in on an emergency basis in games? Or does Danny really see something in Demetrius Jackson that wasn't evident (to me at least) in the Summer league games?

And I think only 1 year is guaranteed. So there is little risk on the team's side. Just curious what the thinking is. I saw a guy with a good shot but with marginal ball handling skills. Not terrible, but nothing that made me think he could get by his man and into the paint. Maybe he's better than he showed. Don't know since I didn't see him in college.
