That was at the start of free agency. We had money to sign 2 max contracts. We signed Horford 26 mil. That took up more than half of what remained. We also re-signed Amir Johnson (12 mil) and Jonas Jerebko (5 mil). Then today we agreed to terms with Zeller (8 mil), Gerald Green (1+) and Demetrius Jackson (?). So that's where our money went. Good point, DM. To get that room for the 2nd max FA, either Amir would've had to be released, and possibly jerebko as well. that's the beauty of those 1+1 deals. they give you so much flexibility.

Sure hope that's not our roster.. That's why I think Danny needs help. A salary cap guru.. Why couldn't we renounce that whole list of mediocrity and use our draft picks.. Surely zizic abusele are better than that and cheaper.. Darren we need to get a man in the cs front office.. Any good with contracts? Smiles

Actually, we supposedly have one of the best up and coming capologist, Mike Zarren.
And though we spent a lot of our remaining cap on players who may not have great appeal, these are the players that we won 48 games with.
And like I said, the ones we've reached an agreement with, may not stay with the team. Seemes like there's going to be a shake down.

Derren it does seem strange. I hope its a good trade..
And we did add Al who was on a pretty good Hawks team who won 60 games a few years ago?
I know Toronto got a little better.. And if you believe hype so did the Knicks..

Keep in mind that we were the only team in the league to beat the Warriors and the Cavs on their home court.
We did that with the group of guys we had last year. And i believe we have a better team this year with the players we curreny have.

And i believe we have a better team this year with the players we curreny have. Yes we won 48 games and we were the only team to beat both Cavs and Warriors on their home court and we came very close to beating the Warriors twice. But now that they know our strategy, probably won't happen again. With the addition of Al Horford and believe it or not, Gerald Green, I think we are a better team. AB has improved every year. Crowder and Smart are both very hard workers and should come back better. Brown will add to the team. and Rozier has already shown how much better he will be this season.

And we lost Evan Turner who was a good defensive player. Al is a upgrade over sullinger. I hope that we don't regress with new players and are injury free. We don't have much front court depth

We don't have much front court depth Yeah, there is always the chance of regressing when you change the chemistry of the team. When Danny moved Perk, the team was at the top of the league and they supposedly had Shaq and JO to fill that spot. But when Perk left, they lost all of their chemistry and never did quite get it back. And then Shaq and JO were injured and we were left with Krstic to man the middle. Hopefully this won't be near as disruptive to the team. Turner was very versatile and was a big part of what they were able to do. Perhaps they will replace him by committee. Rozier at the 1, Brown and Green at the 2 and 3.

But for that price, it was too rich for us.
ET really had his best season last year, did many good things on the floor, and it'll be hard to replace from just one guy. Collectively, I hope we can be a more balanced and diverse team. That's how we can offset ET's contributions.

I'm still confident that Marcus Smart is gonna play a bigger role this year and eat up a lot of the minutes that Turner played last year.

He'll play a bigger role because his defense is just soooo good. And I'm confident he will still attempt many three's (but still shoot a poor percentage).
He may start to attack the basket more frequently as well (but not finish those drives because he lacks creativity).
He and Rozier will most likely eat up a bulk of the minutes ET leaves behind.

Darren I know we couldn't match Evans salary. Just commenting on his loss. There were stretches he was our best player. His height and versatility I don't see anyone on our roster who can do exactly the same.
The fun part will be discovering what this team is. Seeing rozier develop. Seeing if Marcus can be that point guard we need.

Yeah, I also thought he was our best player at times last year (and I have always been a harsh critic of his game, so that says something when I give him such a big compliment).
No doubt, he does leave behind a hole that won't easily be filled by any one individual. But what I'm hoping is, the dynamic of our bench will be such that we won't have to rely on one player (like Evan Turner) to create plays for himself and his teammates. I'm hoping guys like Rozier and Smart will be able to penetrate into the lanes more efficiently, and guys like Gerald and Jerebko can knock down three's at a better clip (which was never ET's strong suit).

Slashers have value also. I don't want to be so focused on 3s.. In a ideal world or mine Isaiah is the bench scorer..
Rebound. Fast break. Hit your open shots..

Oldtimeball, I hope your screen name isn't indicative of your idea of how basketball is played nowadays. It's all about the 3 ball now. That's why the game has gone away from the traditional big men and has moved way outside.
If your team isn't shooting three's, you'll have a hard time competing.
