I don't necessarily agree, DM. A player has to be a good fit for what you are trying to do, and may flourish in one system while struggling in another. The other players on the team matter too. But a good coach will also make do with what he has -- use a players strength to a team's advantage.

The Blazers have been sending big chunks of money on good players, though far from being stars.
I guess 10 mil a year for a rotation player like Harkless is the going rate now.
