It was during that weird time when Jordan wore the number 45.

I remember that but it is vague in my mind. LeBron might have stiffer competition than Jordan did though because teams are starting to try to gang up on him a bit. hibbert and George play on the same team. vs beating reggie miller and rick schmits. Or Ewing. I don't know though. Hibbert reminds me of ewing sometimes. It is kind of weird how history has cycled a bit. Teams build the same ways too. Seattle with Kemp is kind of similar to Durant as well. Houston has Howard and Harden. It should be an interesting playoffs at least.

I rate the best players based on efficiency, and defense. Lebron James has both, though one could argue: >rule changes in the NBA >lack of an efficient drug policy >expansion

Russell apparently responded to James
"Before the game," Sager said on the telecast, as featured in the video below, "LeBron James was talking to Bill Russell and Bill said, ‘Hey, thank you for leaving me off your Mount Rushmore.’ He said 'I’m glad you did. Basketball is a team game, it’s not for individual honors. I won back-to-back state championships in high school, back-to-back NCAA championships in college, I won an NBA championship my first year in the league, an NBA championship in my last year, nine in between. And that, Mr. James, is etched in stone."
That is a great comeback. Russell continues to show why he is the best to me.

Winning a title in your first and last year is pretty awesome bragging rights. Not many dudes can say that.

Hahaha here's a random fact. You know who else can say they won titles in their first and last years? Sam Cassell. I had forgotten he was on our 2008 squad.

He also starred in Enemy Mine with Dennis Quaid. People think it was Lou Gossett Jr but it was really sam cassell.

Enemy Mine: Come for the intergalactic warefare, stay to watch Louis Gossett Jr. give birth.

Welp, talking about Cassell led to me looking at Cassell vids on youtube (shame there isn't a good Cassell vid out there). In his prime Cassell was a blast to watch. Dude wanted the ball in the clutch, and he loved being the guy that buried the other team. Dude had a deadly midrange game. Guys that make their money with a midrange jumper are a dying breed. Cassell was one of the best. Too bad we got him at the tail end of his career. Dude was a huge part of the TWolves only successful season (03-04).

That's a fun idea. There's a lot of different combinations that make sense.

I did mine with 14, so I guess I had enough to put Hakeem on my bench.

It was a tad flawed in the sense that I can't say Russell was five times better than Hakeem or that Shaq was twice as good as Hakeem. Or that Karl Malone is like five times better than KG
