just sold a ps3 slim for $170 plus shipping which came to $17 to print the label. The issue is i had to pay 30 for a box to put it in, tape and popcorn at staples to send it. is there any way to get reimbursed for this? where can i ask such things? i've never sold anything on ebay before.

I've been using ebay for years. I think you may be out of luck on the packaging costs. If I know something is gonna be a bear to ship, I will usually increase the shipping fee when I am putting the auction together.
Smart move selling the PS3 while you can still get some cash for it.

I just got a ps4 hehe. Also selling my xbox 360 with gta v and madden 25 for $100. buy now $150 lol.
I changed the shipping cost on the 360 to 32 dollars so maybe ill make some of the cost back. I think that works right? It calculated the cost before at $17 then i had to pay that to print the label. At stables a box for $3.50. tape was $10 and i bought a bag of popporn and bubble wrap for $14 plus tax that all went in the box. Ridonkulous. Still got $140 for it though. Plus the fee through paypal.
The ps3 was pretty much brand new. The xbox 360 ive had for a few years but it works fine. 2 controllers and recharger.
I traded in some games at gamestop and got ripped off too. But i figure if i can get $300 for everything to help pay for hte ps4 that's better than nothing.
I paid like over $1000 for all this !!!GREENIAC!!!.

I've never messed with the printed shipping labels before. I don't own a printer so I have to go stand in line with the rest of the schlubs. I always adjust the shipping costs as well. I usually put right around what everyone else is charging.

It's funny you just started this thread as I've just started selling things on Ebay. In terms of boxes, you should be able to get free ones (if you do priority mail) from the USPS (you can have them deliver it as well if you don't want to stop at the post office) store.usps.com/store/cart/cart.jsp?_requestid=4816344 I have a bunch of boxes around the house so I usually don't have to waste much on shipping supplies. Usually I just charge whatever the shipping label is gonna cost from Ebay. I've enjoyed the process so far and have gotten decent returns on things I don't use (compared to selling back to Gamestop or somewhere else for barely anything). I've only sold video games and DVD box sets so far though. I'm thinking of putting up my Sega Genesis for sale as well. Haven't played it in a long time and I've only held onto it for sentiment.

The sega genesis was awesome runrondo.. I used to manage a game store at the mall back in the day(babbages before it became gamestop) and we used to be able to try out all the systems and games. it created this addiction of mine lol. I dont know if i should sell the ps3 or 360 this soon. the new consoles aren't that much better. really don't like the new xbox and all the camera and talking to your tv stuff. That's just a bit much and kind of an invasion of privacy isnt it? I just want to play games sometimes. It's something i do in my spare time to kill time and have some fun when it's too cold to be outside. Some of these new games are amazing though. nba 2k14 on the ps4 is ridiculous. also playing killzone shadow fall which is a first person shooter and its pretty crazy.
microsoft is trying to pull th is big brother 1984 stuff and i dont get it. i guess the future is here but why would i want to talk to my tv and have a camera watching me? that just seems extremely creepy and nerdy to me.
the ps4 is really nice and does everything i want it to. it plays games. i can switch between my tv and games and pc when im on here and it works. i am sort of a nerd but also not. i watch the celtics on tv and that's about it and talk about here and play games sometimes. still like to go outside and do stuff too and spend time with people. i hope microsoft doesnt win out by monopolizing cable tv and everything in between though. all this technology can be a bit much sometimes.
i dont even like it when people email me stuff. its like pick up a phone. too much crap out there and some of these companies trying to control our brains and what we can and can't do. I was trying to think of something the other day and refused to google it because i wanted to figure it out myself and that's good sometimes lol. and we wonder why people are getting dumber.

Yea I really love the genesis. Still have the Sonic games and NBA Jam which I love. Just never really play it anymore with all these damn consoles. Still have my N64 as well. That usually gets some good playing time (especially if people are over) so I would not think to sell that anytime soon.
In terms of the new consoles, I always try to wait it out because it takes a while for a good lineup of games to come out and for the potential of the consoles to be really used. I have a 360 and will not be buying a new console until better games come out. I got a bunch of games (plus countless others to choose from) on the 360 I still haven't played fully, so I'm not gonna shell 400 or 500 dollars on a new system with one or two games that interest me at this point. Also, the new xbox confuses me. I just want to play video games. None of this "watch TV on xbox" stuff. If I wanna watch TV, I'll just change the channel or not play video games. Multitasking is overrated. The Voice commands and motion detection stuff, so far, adds nothing to games for me. The kinect games are usually pretty boring. Nothing beats just holding an actual controller. The only thing that makes me even want a new system is NBA 2k14 as the graphics look pretty sweet. Other than that, no real motivation to shell some cash for a new system just yet. Good to hear you enjoying the PS4 though. It'll probably be the one I go with if I do buy a new system.

Haha I remember the SNES vs. Genesis war in the mid-90s divided my junior high. I was always an SNES kid.

I sold the 360. They paid the full buy price $150 but they want me to ship it to Nigeria of course lol. I'm trying to figure out how to do this or if i want to. They offered to pay up to $90 for shipping but will it even work over there? Can i cancel this sale? Seems pretty good if i can just ship it there like anything else. I don't trust these people. The last bidder on the ps3 had positive reviews and people had rated him as a buyer. This buyer signed up today and just bought it and wants me to ship it to nigeria? lololololol.

Yeah, that sounds like a complete scam. Did you set the auction up as to only ship to the US? I am far too lazy to hassle with overseas shipping.

yeah US shipping is selected. They sent me an email with it saying she wants it shipped to nigeria. That's BS? I have no idea how to cancel it.

Definitely contact ebay's customer service. They should be able to show you how to do it. But just for laffs you should send an email to these people and then post their reply here. I bet their response would be hilarious.

I mean, as long as the person pays...haha...I think you can ship it to a certain Ebay center that will then send it internationally. I think you have to have international shipping selected first though. I'm not really sure what to do in this situation, but here's the link about international shipping. pages.ebay.com/help/pay/ship-internationally.html

yeah US shipping is selected. They sent me an email with it saying she wants it shipped to nigeria. That's BS? I have no idea how to cancel it. dont send it. its a scam. simply put, these guys buy a whole buncha things from ebay with stolen credit cards and such. Within a week or two, the credit card's owner will report it missing and the bank will retract payment from you leaving you without the money and without your goods. If i were you, I'd report the person to ebay and re-list. These scams happen far too often and you're better off taking less money selling it to someone who lives in the US than no money at all sending it to nigeria.
