Injury is always a concern in my mind when I look at a big man. Embiid has had issues on his knees and back which is not a good sign. Still, I'd roll the dice on him 10 times outta 10 just like I would've picked Oden given the chance.

Yeah that's what im saying is every time you take a big man you are always rolling the dice in that regard. There is some risk.

Ibaka does not losses the low post moves that Embiid already shows, even though he just learned them this year.
If Embiid continues his upward trend in his development as a basketball player, he'll be more valuable than Ibaka.

I think comparing Embiid to Ibaka is a better NBA comparison than to some of the players I have seen. Example - Hakeem Olajawon (Hakeem was a much more developed player, because he stayed a few seasons in the NCAA).

The comparison to Olajuwon is based on physical similarities (how he moves and the post moves he does). No one I've read thinks Embiid will put up a hall of fame career like Olajuwon did.

Have you got to see Sam Dekker play much DM? Seems like he is often placed in the 15-25 projections in the first round, which is of course where our 2nd 1st rounder should fall.
Seems like he has the potential to be a pretty good "3 and D" wing, but he doesn't seem to have the ball-handling ability needed to have a high offensive ceiling.

They just started on ESPN now Wisconsin against Indian good match up. I have seen some of Dekker he doesn't stand out to me but I probably havent watched him enough

Does Indiana have any other first round talent besides Vonleh?

No, haven't watched much of Dekker, which means he hasn't caught my eye.
Aside from Vonleh, Indiana doesn't have any other first round prospect on the team.
Vonleh again did a terrific job on Wisconsin's big man. Vonleh has the potential to be a solid post defender against 4's. He's increased his strength and doesn't get bullied, but holds his own well.

To be fair, no one can. But Embiid does things on the court that are reminiscent of Olajuwon. That doesn't mean he's the next Olajuwon. It's like saying Marshon Brooks is the next Kobe just because he mimics his game after Kobe's.

Embiid out the last 2-games of the regular season. Have to wonder how serious his injuries really are, and will they be long-term.

I won't worry until I hear medical experts say there are red flags.

Btw, I updated my top 10 list. TJ Warren is now officially on my board.
