Embiid out the last 2-games of the regular season. Have to wonder how serious his injuries really are, and will they be long-term. Embiid is flying to California to see a specialist for his back. Like you said RR, this could be a red flag depending on what the doctor diagnoses. May very well fall to us if we dont get a top 3 pick and his back issues somehow cause teams to shy away like Sully.

I'd think he'd stay at Kansas if that was the case. Rehab his back, get it stronger, further improve his game, and he'll be in the mix for the top pick again next year.

Stress fracture in the back sounds scary. With this news, which is damaging to his draft stock, I'm leaning toward him staying at Kansas.

Andre Drummond had a similar injury last year (lower back stress fracture), but he's back playing at a high level.

Have any of you had a chance to watch Clemson, specifically KJ McDaniels? I'm always a sucker for guys with unique skill sets. Kid blocks two shots a game and he is a SG/SF! I'm hoping I'll get a chance to catch a Clemson game during the NCAA tourney.

One thing that cannot be denied in the Wiggins vs Parker debate is the intensity level of Jabari. He plays with fire and emotion, and riles up his teammates and the fans. I like seeing this from Parker.

I think we're getting a clearer picture of the tiers in this draft:
Tier 1 (potential perennial All-Stars, top 3-5 at their position) Wiggins, Parker, Embiid
Tier 2 (possible borderline All-Stars) Randle, Exum, Smart (putting Smart here cause most people see him this way)
Tier 3 (potential key starters) Gary Harris, Doug McDermott, Aaron Gordon
Tier 4 (solid role players) Rodney Hood, Tyler Ennis, TJ Warren, Noah Vonleh
Tier 5 (hard to gauge) Wayne Selden, Dario Saric, Kyle Anderson, Jerami Grant, Zach Lavine

DM, I recently read some stuff on TJ Warren that compared his game to Corey Maggette's. Does that sound apt to you? They both did score a lot of point in the paint and at the foul line, and both lacked an outside shot. They have totally different body types, but the production seems like it could be similar. If Warren can put up those kind of #s he'd be a pretty good pick in the late lottery.
Their physical abilities are way different, but the comparison between them is the lack of a three point shot. I don't know if I agree with this, but that's where the comparison is being made.

The more we lose it seems we are going after one of the big 3 in this draft. Does Embiid's injury concern anyone? Because i still think he has potential to be the top pick. Parker also appears to be a franchise player potentially. Wiggins hype has definately cooled a bit but is still definately in that big 3.
I tried to tier things myself derren. I have Aaron Gordon rising and Smart possibly falling a bit but not so sure. I also am still not that high on randle. He seems like a faster version of sully to me which is all well and good but as far as our needs i might move Gordon into that second tier over a guy like Randle.

Sully's shooting percentages have been terrible this year but with a legit center that might all change. The thing is we are sitting at 4 or 5 do you take randle and trade sully? I don't think so necessarily.
It's going to be Embiid or Parker with Wiggins, Exum or Gordon as an outside shot. The celtics are loaded with picks where I think we are going to get Parker or Embiid. If i had to flip a coin i don't know who it will be.
Something with DA's strategy does not make sense to me. Usually with teams i kind of know what they are trying to do but there is something missing as far as all these picks we h ave going forward. I think it's more just flexibility as far as getting the right pieces and we could still go one of two directions depending on where we end up in the draft.
He's doing what he did with KG and Ray Ray but if he had gotten durant he would have built another way and i think he's going hard after parker or embiid at this point.
We are not trying to win this year. Ainge downplaying the draft and saying we weren't tanking was all a lie and a big smokescreen.
That mystery GM before the season was more than likely Danny Ainge.
we still don't know where we are going to end up in the draft so those additional picks just give us flexibility.

danny ainge is a liar when it comes to the draft. he likes players he never drafts. i don't think he's that bad though because usually hte guys he supposedly likes end up being pretty good. But you never hear about the guys he drafts until afterwards. Usually it's the guy somewhere a long the line was the first guy you thought they'd get though. He's hard to figure out. So parker or embiid. maybe wiggins.
I think he still weighs all options until the last minute though but rarely lets the cat out of the bag.

They are both also pretty good at getting to the line.

Maggette could create his own offense; its questionable how well Warren will be able to do it in the NBA.
We rate athleticism so highly in basketball, but its not the most important ability. Warren doesn't have explosiveness, but he has the knack and the nose for scoring.
