Lets be honest here. Trading Paul Pierce and Raef both would be great if Boston can only get this 1 man. This 1 man is a top 5 player in the league but he may force his gm to trade him after all the sh|t that has gone on where he plays. His team was a #1 seed in the west 2 yrs ago. His contract is like 20 mil a year or a little lesser but its worth every penny to have. Its a player who wants a good gm and a winning situation. This players name is Kevin Garnett. I thought about it and I was thinking, hmmm.....maybe this is a deal McHale would do if Garnett was really unhappy. Seeing how Danny is looking for the best deal possible for Pierce, maybe he will do this for sure. Its like trading a star plus a good center for an mvp type player who is disgruntled. Minny may want to add a crap contract to it also but who knows. All I know is I think this trade would help us big time.

I'd imagine we'd have to give up Pierce and another high ceiling prospect to even get McHale to listen. Not that I think this could be a possibility--just trying to keep conversations going before training camp.

Tony Allen and Banks could sweeten it or Tony Allen and 2 2nds can be it.

Nah, it'll take a lot more than that. We are talking about an All-World player here.

Any trade that involves KG has to involve AlJeff for Minny to even listen. He is a top three player in the league. And he actually doesnt mind living in minnesota. Hed have to pull a vince carter for minny to trade him for anything less than a premium value. And if Ainge even mentioned 2nd rounders, McHale would have to go on sabbatical so he could stop laughing sometime next year.
Wed have to offer PP, Raef, AlJeff, and a couple of 1sts for Minny not to hang up the phone. There has been absolutely no word that Garnett wants out or that Minny is even thinking of trading him.

He's an all world player who gets paid like all universe and has hardly even won playoff games. I wouldn't want to bring on his salary knowing we have other to pay in the future. I'd want to dump some back. That means PP, Blount, Raef, Ricky, and maybe some sweeteners like Banks, TA, Gomez, Reed, future picks, and maybe take back someone else like Wally Z

Giving up Jefferson, Pierce, Banks, Allen and Raef is too damn much for KG. This however could be a case where KG means as much to McHale as Dirk means a lot to Cuban. Both make dumb trades but those players they want to stay put totally. This was just an idea. A damn good one too.

For KG, it would take P2, R Davis, and most likely AJ.

Boston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Paul Pierce 6-6 SF from Kansas 21.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.2 apg in 36.1 minutes Raef LaFrentz 6-11 C from Kansas 11.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.2 apg in 27.4 minutes Marcus Banks 6-2 PG from UNLV 4.6 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 1.9 apg in 14.1 minutes Tony Allen 6-4 SG from Oklahoma State 6.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 16.4 minutes Incoming Kevin Garnett 6-11 PF from Farragut Academy HS (IL) 22.2 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 5.7 apg in 38.0 minutes Michael Olowokandi 7-0 C from U. of Pacific 5.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.6 minutes Change in team outlook: -15.6 ppg, +0.7 rpg, and -1.9 apg.
Successful Scenario Due to Minnesota and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Basically theyd be trading KG for PP, plus theyd be taking Raef atrocious contract off our hands. Ill say it again, AlJeff would have to be mentioned for Minny to even answer the phone. What reason would they have for pulling the trigger on any scenariio not involving AlJeff?

Then again though, we may not be much much better off with KG than Pierce. But its also debatable with this young talent. KG had Wally last year on his losing season and a declining Sprewell and Cassell and Hudson.

Unless KG kills someone his trade value won't go down in value. Its going to take two starters plus a young prospect to get this guy. Not to mention this guy is over 7 feet tall and can play all 5 positions. In other words, we're better off keeping what we have cause we'll pretty much dismantle the whole team just to get 1 guy.

Yea, Kiss Green, Jefferson and Pierce altogether goodbye after all. 1 huge star is not worth 3-4 key championship elements of a team. KG is 6'11 and can't play pg. They used him as a sg before.
