Who is the NFL team you root for, and how are the players being mocked to be picked by your team, and who are you hoping your team gets?

Colts.
Seems the mock drafts have Xavier Rhodes a CB going to the Colts. Not a bad position to fill considering the Colts weakness in the secondary. But I was hoping the Colts would keep shoring up the O-Line. Luck took too many hits last season when the pocket kept breaking down. I can only imagine the numbers he would have put up if he had a half decent O-line.
Funny thing about drafts is the amount of skill players you can find in the later rounds...RBs and WRs that somehow turn out into gems even though they're picked in the late rounds. Thats why I believe any team that drafts should go for positions you can really assess based on college tape like the D and O lines. Those are the spots you can really find a player's weaknesses and strengths. Not often at all do you find All-Pro linemen being picked in the later rounds. They are usually gone by the 1st round.

Yeah, thats pretty much how it goes. Lot of good RB's can be found in later rounds, but usually the good OLinemen are taken early. With OLinemen, there are certain things you gotta have, and I think its easier to see who has those qualities, physical attributes, and abilities. For instance, size and strength are obvious, but also natural knee bend, how well they anchor themselves, arm length, quick feet, etc. If you are missing those things, you're probably not going to be a good OLinemen.
I'm a Dolphins fan. We're licking at 12. We're being mocked to take a Guard, either Jonathan Cooper or Chance Warmack. Some mocks hace us taking a CB, either Rhodes or DJ Hayden (who I like, but maybe not at 12). Tavon Austin is another being mocked to us -- he's an exciting player, and he'll make my offense dynamic, but we'll see.
Forme, I'm taking either Tyler Eifert (best TE in the draft) or the best pass rusher (Tank Carradine).
My Dolphins have 11 picks, with 5 coming in the first 3 rounds.

BTW, Jr, thanks for the 2nd rounder you gave us for Vontae Davis!

Vikings pick 23 and 25. i hope they trade back with at least one of the picks. i don't think there is much of a talent drop off between 20-60. I hope they take the BPA at either DT, WE, MLB, CB, or G. Its a weird draft. Terrible in the top 5, but it has really good depth.

Its being said MIN will take Manti Te'o, a local grown talent from our island! I'll be keeping tabs on Minny all season long if it happens.

BTW, Jr, thanks for the 2nd rounder you gave us for Vontae Davis! Hahaha yeah I was kinda upset about it at first but then it wasnt toooo bad after it ended up becoming a low 2nd rounder. Didnt expect my Colts to do so well in a rebuilding year. And Davis...hes serviceable I guess. And frankly he was better than what we had before which isnt saying much. Fins looking good this year with their FA splash. However its still the AFC East and thats always a tough one against the Pats twice a year.

This is the first year I have paid virtually no attention to the draft. I have my magazine. I actually went to the draft back in the day. But I know very little about this year. I think the Pats are in pretty good shape mostly just needing DBs, but even then Dennard avoided jail and they brought in Adrian Wilson so I'm hopeful. If they can get a great TE at a great point in the draft I'd take him and trade Gronk. The guy is always either partying or hurt and every once in a while plays some football. I'm getting tired of his act

My Dolphins traded our 12th pick and the 42nd (2nd round pick) to get the 3rd overall pick, and we used it to get DE Dion Jordan.
Wow, I'm just surprised at how many Fins fans hate this pick. Just because Jordan wasn't who they wanted, they are calling this a bad pick.
I think it was a really good move, and we got ourselves a good player who will help us out a lot. He's an effective pass rusher (I see him as a Jason Taylor type) and can also play pass coverage. How many DE's can do that?
Like you said, Jr., my Dolphins play in the same division as the Pats, and the way to defeat them is to get to Brady and keep him from throwing the ball effectively. With Dion Jordan attacking Brady from the left side, and the dangerous Cameron Wake rushing in from the right side, we're going to put pressure on Brady.
This was a terrific move by GM Jeff Ireland. But now he's got to come through on Day 2 and 3.

Glad Tavon Austin didn't go to the Jets or the Pats!!! Whew!
I like this kid, he's going to be exciting. He got drafted by the Rams (via the Bills).

Shariff Floyd at 23 is great value. I thought he was the best DT in the draft, along with Star Lotulelei and Sylvester Williams. Good get, Fresh.

Actually, Fresh, the Vikes did really well. Shariff could turn out to be a Pro-bowler, Rhodes is a solid CB, and Cordarelle Patterson, who may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, has lots of natural tools to be a dynamic receiver (lots of Fins fans wanted him a month ago).
I think MIN did really well.

Some teams trading up and some teams trading down. My cowboys and Pats traded down. Cowboys took Travis Frederick.
he's a good player and fills a need. most people are upset because we could have gotten him in the 2nd round. I'm ok with the pick but I still question the direction of this team. He should be a good fit here though and Romo's center for a long time. If that pans out we will all look back and say this was a very solid pick by jerrah.
WEird thing is I actually understand the cowboys logic here in some regard. Better then drafting a player you don't want. Trade back get as much value as you can and get the guys you want regardless of where mel kiper ranks them. I draft my fantasy teams this way. I'd much rather get the players i want. People laugh at me and think my teams suck every year and I usually win my leagues this way. I don't buy the hype.
The question more to me is should I have faith in Jerrah? He has been better drafting of late but this team still lacks direction. There's still something wrong with his logic.
Frederick was not a 1st round talent. I would have understood this pick more if we just drafted at 18 and took him in the 2nd round. Instead we have the 74th and 31st pick instead of the 18th.
Is the 74th and 31st picks better. Will we help ourselves more? Maybe.
I didn't really research the draft at all b ut Sylvester Williams was the guy I liked. A lot of fans wanted Floyd. Williams still almost fell to us where we could have gotten him then Frederick in the 2nd.
Cowboys going back to a 4-3. Frederick is a high iq run blocking mauler which I like. It all sounds good. Cowboys have a lot of good skill players. Dez Bryant, Austin, Witten, Romo, Claiborne, Ware, Lee. They have good tackles in Tyron Smith and Doug Free. They need interior lineman. It's a shame they can't put it all together. You need good interior line play to win in this league and the cowboys appear to be addressing that need. Will it all pan out though? This guy could easily bust to be a 1st round pick at the same time.
The Pats are even more in that mode of trading down and just aquiring picks on the 2nd day of the draft.

Cowboys get a Center no one had on their first round radar. Is this who Dallas really wanted, or a guy Jerry wanted? He's been known to meddle and that's what it looks like.
