Nothing more than a guess but here goes- 5- Reaf LaFrentz 4- Al Jefferson 3- Justin Reed 2- Paul Pierce 1- Dan Dickau 6- Ricky Davis 7-10- (in no order) Delonte West Kendrick Perkins Tony Allen Brian Scalabrine 11-13- (in no order) Ryan Gomes Gerald Green Mark Blount This might be the first time I've said this... Orien Greene might be best off going to the NBDL. If not him, the team. Do we need three PGs to start the season, when we can bring guys up from the NBDL? Ricky can bring the ball up the court in a crunch. I might be way off --- but who gives a rip... A month or two into the season the rotation will begin to take shape. Young guys stepping up or slipping off the radar. Maybe, a move of players, at the trade deadline. Who knows?

Ok, I'm projecting mine like this:
C - Raef PF - Jefferson SF - Pierce SG - Tony PG - Delonte
Next wave of players ( 6 - 10)
Perkins Scalabrine Gomes Ricky Dickau
Remaining guys ( 7 - )
Blount Reed Banks Green Orien
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Will Bynum is the 16th guy on the roster who has a guaranteed contract. So obviously someone is going to have to leave. Maybe it'll be Bynum. Maybe it'll be Banks (from what was said in the Globe). Maybe Blount. Who knows.
At any case, I think the 2 guys who are headed to the NBDL is Bynum and Gerald Green. Now, I have tremendous hope for Green, but with how our wing positions are stacked, early in the season, it may be better for Green to get his feet wet against NBDL players.
Assuming Banks is cut, Bynum goes to the developmental league and Orien stays on with the team as the 3rd PG. If Banks stays, Bynum is probably going to be cut, and Orien goes to the NBDL.

I could see that Derren. Nice break-down on the PG position and the wing. Sounds like you might see Green making the team before all is done. Trade at mid-season?

I can't see them keeping both Bynum and Banks I know that much.

starting
pg - dickau sg - davis sf - pierce pf - jefferson c - lafrentz
subs
pg - west/banks (someone will prevail) sg - allen sf - reed pf - scalabrine c - perkins
on the roster, out of regular rotation
west/banks (the one who lost) gomes green blount greene
cut bynum woods borchardt
(danny will try to trade them to the last minute but ifhe fails he cuts them. remember! - we got 3 million from miami so cutting these three won't mean anything financially)
if anybody goes to the nbdl then the prime candidate would be greene. maybe green or gomes but i doubt it. nbdl is way too green itself so teams may be cautious to use it at first.

Gomes is too much of a favorite of Ainge to be sent to the developmental league. Ainge was ecstatic to draft him at 50. He may have possibly drafted him at 18 if Green didn't fall so far--he himself said that Gomes is a worthy first round pick. Plus he's a 4 year senior who's game shouldn't take long to translate to the speed of the NBA.
Its either going to be Bynum or Orien, and this hinges on whatever happens with Banks. If Banks stays, Bynum goes, and Orien goes to the NBDL.
If Bynum stays, he goes straight to the NBDL and Orien stays on as the 3rd PG.

West Allen Pierce Jefferson RAef
Bench
Dickau Ricky Perk Scalabrine Gomes Reed Blount Green
Banks and Woods will be cut. We might stick Borchardt on the IL as a 3rd big off the bench for insurance. Bynum and Greene will be sent to the nbdl..

This rotation is considering that we do not make any trades, and Woods, Borchardt, and Bynum are cut. I know if Ainge could package Blount and Banks in a trade, he would keep Borchardt because he is cheaper, but I really don’t think anyone will take Blount right now unless we package him with someone better than Banks, and I do not think that is going to happen.
5 – Raef 4 – Jefferson 3 – Pierce 2 – Allen 1 – Dickau
6th man-Davis 7-West 8-Perkins 9-Veal 10-Gomes 11-Reed 12-Blount
-IR-Banks
-NBDL-Greene -NBDL-Green
Towards the middle or end of the season, I expect Gomes to start a handful of games (meaningful games) at the 3 with Pierce at the 2.
He may just be the steal of the entire draft.
I expect Banks to rotate with Reed/Blount for inactive roster spot.

Thats a good take esco. I might need to rethink mine. I like that you have Green in the nbdl. Why not?

People may not expect Gerald Green to go to the NBDL, but if it happens I would not be surprised. He is the future, and he needs to learn and develop so that he can be ready to contribute sooner rather than later. That means he needs actual game time. Unless he REALLY impresses in training camp, I do not see him getting playing time ahead of Davis, Allen, or Gomes. He will play big minutes if he goes to the NBDL.
The only way I do not see him going there is if the Celtics really want to keep an eye on him (babysit him if you will) and make sure he has the right group of guys around him that can teach him and mentor him on and off the court.
From what I hear he is a good kid anyway.

Beginning of year
C - Raef PF - Jefferson SF - Scala he will essentially be out there to "protect" Jefferon a bit SG - Pierce PG - Banks
6 Ricky 7 Tony 8Delonte may get sent to NBDL every once in a while maybe to let GG come up and get a taste against a weaker opponent 9 Reed 10Perk 11 Dickau 12Gomes 13 Blount although Ainge will continue to try to unload him
GG NBDL will play during the regular season at some point at least to test him out OG NBDL
cut Bynum, but will ask him to sit next to his phone in case of trades or injury Woods Borchardt unless he gets lucky
By the end of the year
C - Perk PF - Jefferson SF - Pierce unless traded SG - Tony PG - Delonte
6 Ricky 7 Dickau 8 Scala 9 Reed 10Raef I only put him below Scala cause of injury concerns 11 Banks 12Gomes 13 Blount although Ainge will continue to try to unload him
GG NBDL will play during the regular season at some point at least to test him out OG NBDL
Bynum may just be on this team at some point

Interesting rotations guys. Shows a lot of options DA might have if the players pan out like we hope or predict.

dickau west banks greene bynum three will be on the active roster, one will be in nbdl, one will be cut. take your picks! West, Greene, Dikau on active roster. WB to the NBDL, Banks cut/traded. That's at least what I want to happen. Hopefully that's what will happen.
