Fans were all downing Ainge when he first came in and dealt Walker... I'm one of the fans that have been on board with Ainge from day one. The Celts had no direction until he came here IMO.

I think an overcrowded competitive lineup is the exact problem we need to have.

I think an overcrowded competitive lineup is the exact problem we need to have. Ain't it truly amazing how Ainge was able to turn a consistently weak depth chart into the one we're looking at now? Even though many of these kids are young and inexperienced, their talent level and physical athleticism are much better than 80% of the players we had back in Pitino's and O'Brien's days. Like we mentioned before, practices are going to be extremely competitive and I don't see how any of our players will not get better just by going up against each other on a daily basis.

I don't see how any of our young players can't get better either. The practices enough seem like they could do it regardless if theres no Tim Duncan to play against in practice each day. The fact that we have competitive players makes the difference for sure.

Karma plus John. I agree.
I believe all of the players we have can be solid. We'll see more when camp gets going. Not much for labeling players.
Other than Reed and Greene... They are under my wing.

As I have said before, there will be competition at every position, other than Pierce's. 2-3 guys will be battling it out for playing time.
One of these years, Danny has to get Exec of the Year.

Alright, so now we know (or are pretty sure) that we won't be giving the Hornets any players in the Dickau trade--just a second round pick (and we also will lose some of the trade exemption).
This leaves us with a huge dilemma. We ADD yet another quality player who is going to compete for playing time!!! (Don't you just hate this? ;D)
So is Ainge going to make a trade sometime before the season starts? Is he going to just nip and tuck some players who don't live up to their billing? Even if Woods and Bordchardt are just cut off the team, we are still over the regulated roster limit.
I'd think Ainge is going to have to make a trade. Even if he's just going to get pennies on the dollar. He has to, or else lose players for nothing. Cutting players will have the benefit of not taking back any more salaries and not gaining any more bodies. But at least getting future draft picks, second rounders or not, can add future benefits.

Yea, Ainge is gonna have to make a decision on Banks and maybe one more of our young guys seeing Blonut may not be eligible for trade bait just yet.

The unfortunate issue is that in recent years, when the Celtics have taken the option on players, ex: Brown and Welch, they digressed in play. Hopefully,Banks will not be the same.

Ernest Brown? I take it like some of these players may not play as well due to knowing their names are always up in the air.
