I was a fan of Boozer when he was playing with CLE. But after he tricked them and went to Uta, I didn't have a high opinion of the guy. But I still like him as a player because he's very talented. And it appears Ainge is high on him too, the way the source says that we are showing a lot of interest.
No doubt that he can rebound and score. Ainge may be thinking of moving Jefferson to C and bringing in Boozer as our PF. That could work because Jefferson is a versatile player.

E-Mac, have you read about the Utah trade talk that's flying around? About us being interested in trading for Boozer and Harpring? That's a pretty interesting one. Actually I just heard about it today. Does the trade talk say is we would give Pierce for those guys? If so, then I'd say no. If we'd only be giving up like Blount and Banks, then I'd definately say yes.

I like Boozer as player, but "boozer-gate" really changed my opinion.

Boozer will suck in a few years. He won't stay good.

What makes you say that, Meltin? I see no reason why Boozer won't continue being this good. He's not a stiff who played hard just to get a contract. He's a talented player who plays hard and he puts up good numbers by being active. If anything, he is proving that he is a consistently good player by moving to the West and still producing high quality stats. He went from 15.5 ppg, 11.4 rpg in his last year in CLE to 17.8 ppg, 9 rpg. His drop in rebounding can be credited to the tougher matchups in the West, but his offensive rebounding remained nearly the same. He shoots the ball well (has been over 52% for his career) and he even gets to the line a good amount of times, and converts when he gets there.

The kind of "mold" that Daay is making, boozer would be a very important component. For the C's tp play up Tempo ball, they need desperately to "REBOUND"! You need tenancious rebounders and guys who like "physical" play. Boozer "fits the bill" He would thrive in that type of system. Also, he likes, to run - for a big man !

You just never know. Look at the past guys who failed.

Yeah, but its not like he's an unproven commodity. He's been in the league for 4 years, and his numbers the past 3 have been very good.

I still think Boozer is an overrated player for his money.

Well, you can say that for 80% of the players in sports. But you pay for talent, and Boozer does have talent.

Elton Brand has more though. I mean the cavs weren't a hell of a lot worse off without him.

Yeah, that's because they got this guy named Lebron James, and Drew Gooden had a good year. They improved the team and that's why Boozer's departure didn't hurt them.
And I'm not saying this guy is an All-NBA guy. He's a really solid player who will probably be able to help us with his rebounding and scoring ability.

Gooden isn't really that good either though. Boozers money is just too much of a price to pay even if you're giving Pierce up. And remember our history with PF's or other bigs on big deals (Baker, Walker, Raef, Blount).

Now don't compare Walker to those other guys. We wouldnt have been in the playoffs without him last year...but anyway, I agree, Boozer is definitely overpayed and would just stunt Al's growth. I don't want him playing center until he is comfortable out there. He is too young to be flip-flopping positions...If Brand is even a distinct possibility, then that is something to consider...btw, Harpring would totally NOT fit in here.

Harpring would fit in if Ricky got traded maybe but thats it. But the only pf worth going after in all reality is Elton Brand.
