Well, I wouldn't mind a veteran like him here, but he needs to understand what we are going to constantly preach--run the darn basketball down their throats!!! No more walking it up, no more lackadaisical effort, etc.

sorry guys. I've been on vacation this week and just heard about this yesterday actually. I'm ok with it. We got some decent bodies to work with that wont hurt us and can be moved. I'm a little disapointed we werent able to move one of our larger contracts with Antoine but I didnt think that would happen anyhow.. Ultimately I'm happy for Antoine that he gets to go to a team that I think he will fit in well with and he should be able to finish out his career on a high note, if Shaq sticks around for at least a bit. At least he wont be playing Center and guarding Shaq like Dallas had him doing. Miami has a nice team in the making for this year.

If Antoine screws this up (and its no guarantee that he won't), that's probably it for him. I hear that he's going to play SF, while Haslem stays at PF. Will Toine go back to jacking up 5 - 8 three's a game again? Is that what they want from him? And if he goes back to playing Point Forward, he's going to alter Miami's successful game plan. They have a good thing going with Wade and Shaq. Could Toine force his way into the mix and mess things up?
I guess this is wrong of me to be thinking up such negative questions. I'll just be a quiet bystander and let things fall into place. Maybe he'll work out for them and be the piece they need to get over the hump. Maybe he won't. But either way, I should just remain quiet because he's no longer a Celtic.

But either way, I should just remain quiet because he's no longer a Celtic. Who knows, but I would agree if he cant win with Shaq its going to be hard to win elsewhere.. Antoine is the type of guy I always thought needed a high percentage guy next to him to win at the highest level though. It's going to be tough though with San Antonio still kicking. They are that good. I wouldnt be surprised to see a Miami, SA final this year but it is still way too early for that. If the Heat cant overtake the Spurs I wouldnt necessarily call Antoine's career a failure, although ultimately winning a championship is what its all about. But many good players have tried and failed to beat the spurs so I wouldn't exactly call him failure if he doesnt either..... It's going to be a long tough road and take some luck and good health. But I kind of like the team Miami is assembling. Jwill, Wade, Walker, Haslem and Shaq plus Posey should be a pretty good mix imo.. I do think he'll play some point forward although Jwill and Wade are also going to handle the ball like they always do. Should make for a good mix nd Walker should be able to just do what he does.. Especially with Shaq there.

Well, not to make you feel any worse, but Michelle Wie is only 15 and she's going to make more in one year than we will make in our entire lifetime (once she turns pro).
Someone, please pass me a tissue.

Yea nobody has gone after Gary or Sprewell so far for big names. Gary will just end up retiring like Malone did. He has no choice now really. He wants to play whenever he plays and will not relinquish his minutes up.
