Man, it sure is quiet around here, considering that the Celtics are in the middle of making a trade. If its my B.O., please, seomeone tell me. I can't promise a shower, but I'll at least touch up my swimsuit region with a damp hanky.

I think the 5m trade exception is huge in my opinion if used correctly. I think this is a great move, plus two second rounders could get us someone like gomes in the future. Nothing wrong with this, avoids a big contract like Raefs in coming the other way, I am all for this.

yeah it was basically a good trade. we got a huge TE, a couple of picks and a couple of guys able to compete for a roster spot. say what you say about woods but he's at least talented, too bad borchardt is injury prone

Looks to me like Ainge did not like what was being offerred for Walker, so he used this deal to set up a future deal. Perhaps if Borchardt shows a pulse we can use the trade exemption to make it easier to trade Blount.

I like everyone that said that we didnt get enough for Anoine. Hey everybody, he's a free agent. We dont really have the upper hand in this deal. we should be thankful hes no longer on the team and that we got something for him. Do you think that some team out there was offering something better, and Ainge, for reasons unknown, refused it? Some people. ANd not really people on this board. This is some of my internet rage overflow from the idiocy of the Celtics ESPN message board.

Yes, Fresh, it is your B.O. I didn't want to say anything about it, but since you brought it up ;D
This is a win win situation for both sides. This time around, both sides are the good guys. Ainge is not a snake and Walker leaves on good terms.
We all know that eventually, Jefferson will take over the PF position. So bringing Walker back long term was not going to happen. But rather than losing Walker for nothing, we get back a 5.5 million dollar trade exemption, which technically could have netted us SAR or Donyell Marshall for a year, and 2 second round draft picks. We can't expect more Ryan Gomes and Orien Greene's to land at our doorsteps in the next draft, but with Ainge's track record, a lot of good may come out of these second round picks.
We don't add any salaries with this trade, and we gain money to go out and spend.

I just found out Albert miralles was picked one pick ahead of Justin Reed by the Raptors. Man I bet they feel dumb. You never know. Andres Nocioni wasn't supposed to be good either.

It well could be that the second round choices are a way of taking flyers on overseas guys not y et ready. As I recall, if we draft them, we keep th eir rights.

I like this. Something in return. Not a lot because Walker doesn't command real good value. Ainge just likes those stiffs though huh? Borchardt, Scalabrine, Raef, Mihm, and whos next Swift? Danny might package the 2nd rounders and Q woods for Swift I'm thinking. This is still better than nothing, cash, 2 2nds and Borchardt. It frees cap space. Sure well be losing really bad this year but guess what??? The road can get better unlike it could when Walker and Pierce ran the show. Plus, all these young players together should be exciting losing or not. I remember I liked the 32 win celtics teams with Radja, Dee Brown and Sherm Douglas. They made the team exciting regardless. And we're rebuilding so a load is off every celtics fans shoulders.

I guess the second round picks belong to Memphis and Miami. I don't know for sure, but I would guess that those are the teams. Maybe New Orleans, since they are involved in the whole thing too.

The 2 second round picks is what we are discussing, Meltin. We are trying to find out which team's second round picks we are receiving. If its the Hornet's pick, we get an early 2nd rounder. If its Miami's, its likely to be a late second rounder.

Either way, who cares. Danny has seemed to do well with 2nd rounders.
