Bleh - We will start lousy and end up trading Pierce for chicken stir fry.
I think things will get better once Pierce, RD, and Blonut are moved.
At least those kids will play hard and surprise some teams.
I am thinking - no Celtics playoffs in Twenty-oh-six.

Id prolly bet on the C's not making the play-offs. But, there is the Easterns conference's recent history of being amazingly underwhelming. Id say that Cleveland is gonna be in the play-offs next year, and Id say that either Boston, Chicago, or Washington will be the team that falls out of the race. As long as the kids develop, I wouldnt be heartbroken.
Quiniela, fell like joining in some Celtics Green Fantasy Football Shananigins? Its So Much Fun I Capitalized Every Word For Emphasis!

Firstly the trade exception must be used in the next 365 days, you can't used it after that.
Secondly, people keep saying (just like last year) that every team in the East has improved! So we must stink this season. Last year, we didn't do so shabby without a major offseason signing, we'll repeat that this season. Plus, even if the other teams have improved, they can't all win 50+ games. Someone is going to loose. By the end of next year, you'll notice that some (if not a lot) of these teams will have similar records as last year.

I think everyone is forgetting about the energy level the young kids bring to the table. Now that Payton and Walker are gone, this team will be running more. They will have their share of turbulance, but it'll all be better in the long run.

plus we screw Miami in this deal. If we hadn't complied with this deal, Miami would have been able to sign Walker for the MLE, now their going to have to pay him a lot more dollars in a longer contract.

The Celtics are done, and it is all Ainge's fault. He has literally fallen off his rocker since the draft. He should not be allowed to make deals, just scout young talent and draft...and even that is yet to be seen. All of you can keep kissing his !!!GREENIAC!!!, thinking he is this mad genius, but to literally get nothing in this walker deal, and not be able to get rid of Blount's salary...well, that is just unacceptable. He has no clue!

I agree DM. I can see it coming in one of our guys or 2. Gomes and Jefferson I think can be our new more vocal presences.

Sounds like West might be a quiet leader as well. I'm just so glad to see GP and AW gone. They were slowing things down too much. If MBlount comes out of his funk, it will only help our frontcourt. I believe he can.

The walker deal present opportunities for "other" players on the team to step up. I am a fan of AW, but efficiency wise, he wasn't at all.
Roll the dice w/ the kids. It will be better in the long-run.

Roadrunner, consider yourself exhalted for summing up my thoughts on the trade perfectly.
17, on the subject of BLount, Id like to see him at least bring a decent attitude next year. That would help make a passable attempt at earning his contract. I dont understand people that couldnt believe his how bad his performance was last year, because I never thought he looked that great the year before. I always heard this year how he wasnt getting enough rebounds, when exactly did he ever get enough rebounds? Its not like he was Moses Malone in 03-04. What did he average, about 7 rbds in about 35 mpg?

MBlount did suck last season. You are right on the money, FreshN. Attitude will be his only way out. DA might move him at the deadline, if he gains more value. ? Or do we need him if he has value? Big guys are hard to come by. If they can run and play D, even better.
I'm so tossed on his future as a C. I just hope for the best.
