Signing Scalabrine for 5 years? I dont question the money all that much, but seriously, when you have a good PG like Saras, why throw money at Veal, who is a 13th man at best? Now Saras goes to Indy, every other team in the East has improved while we still dont have a PF and a PG.
Looks like the 2005-06 Cs are headed to the lotto.

BC is right.
You are right also, Sprash. We should have gone after Saras first, rather than signing Scalabrine. Not that I think Brine isn't going to be a good player for us, its just that Saras would have had more of an impact on the team.
The offseason wheeling and dealing is not over. Before the summer is done, Ainge still may pull in a vet PG.

Newsflash, Saras didn't want to come to Boston. We're not a contender. If Saras didn't want to play with Lebron because Cleveland is not championship material yet, why would he have wanted to come to Boston??
you need to be a contender first BEFORE you can attract top veteran FA's, not the other way around. Young FA's, can be lured with a fat paycheck but most veterans want a shot at the title, they're not interested in young teams that are in building mode.
Why do you think Malone & Payton signed with the Lakers & not Boston 2 years ago? Etc....

Very true. Maybe the talk that he was going to sign with us (as reported in the middle east?) was just to pump up the offers from other teams.
I think he turned down CLE because of Lebron. Saras' game is all about him being the conductor of the symphony. But with Lebron, he knows that there will be many times that he will not be the one in charge of dictating the offense.

I think he turned down Cleveland's offer DISPITE LeBron. I just looked at Indiana's roster. Yikes, if nobody gettes suspended, who's going to beat them in a seven game series? Seriously.... the 2006 NBA champs.

My guess is that DA was somewhat ambivalent about the guy. He has not envisioned the veteran PG NECESSARILY as a starter, seeming to indicate that Banks and West are going to compete for the #1 PG role. Don't th ink he was THAT wild about signing someone who might expect to start for several years.

Time will tell if DA played-one-over on Larry. Doubt it but maybe he was trying to do it to the other GMs.
Did he just talk big about him? ;D

I don't care if it was SAR or Sar, or Travis Knight- this whole Veal thing should never have happened. I just hate how people say that this wasn't a bad move and that he will be decent for us. We will be watching his ugly butt on the bench for the next 5 years. What a waste!

Quiet down Jambr, your a little loud. He beats Antoine anyways. Id much rather have Scala than Fatoine. My smite point given to you was well deserved after all. Pacers still will not be the 2006 champs despite who said that. Ossric?. Pacers have choked all the time. Every year. Suspensions or not.

I think the last 2 are a tem option. IF AW is not back, then would Scal be this team's Rambis?

He is a hustler. But I think he has better offensive game than Rambis. We need some tough hustlers some one to really push the starters in practice. Competition is a good thing.

You know what would be awesome. If Scala put taped up glasses on like Rambis did. It would be cool if Jefferson got Goggles like what James Worthy used to wear. The Mask is more trendy now but I'd like to see goggles again. The celtics and the celtics only should go back to wearing short shorts also. Jeffersons high black socks look and the home white is an example of a new fashion symbol also. I thought he was an old man lol.

Goggles maybe. But I kinda want to leave Rambis with his bit. Also I can only deal with short shorts if they get cheerleaders that look like the old XFL outfits. Come to think of it I need to buy some of those for my woman. But they can't get cheerleaders till Red dies. It would also distract our players which they DONT need
