You have Green and Jefferson whos the new blood opposed to the old in Walker and Pierce. I just want to see what people think our win/loss ratio would be without Paul Pierce. I think it can be a better team not naming next year though. But I still do not think we would be a 20 win team without him either. Maybe more. Lets find out.

If Pierce got traded and lets we only got draft picks in return, we'd lose 50+ games. I guess it all depends on what we get back in the deal.

I think we'd do fine. Especially if we got someone good back.

I see no reason to think we wouldn't be fine.

We'll probably be a losing team w/o pierce for the first year hes gone. I feel 30+ wins would be the best estimate for this team. It all depends on how well the young kids react by taking over as the core of this team. Will Jefferson become the leader in the front court? West become an general at PG? Is Green the real deal? Too many question marks that'll take time to resolve. Far as I'm concerned, we won't have to worry about that scenario anytime soon unless something dramatic happens in the next month or so.

We'd Be an instant lottery team without pierce. I think ricky davis said it best 2 weeks ago in his article in the boston herald. He stated it would be extremely difficult to win without pierce. I think that's about all that needs to be said on the topic.

If DA were to trade Pierce, I'm sure we would get value in a replacement. PP wouldn't be let go for nothing.

One thing Pierce does is draw defensive pressure. I am not sure our kids could pick up the slack on offense as PP can draw a double team. Without this they would have one on one defenders on them. With PP we have an outside shooting threat. Who would pick up that role?
I am not really sure if we should move him or not. It all depends on how his attitude is at training camp. I think we would do poorly without him however but the kids would gain much in terms of experience and seasoning. Tanking is no guarentee of Oden though so its a big risk.

If we lose Pierce, initially, we'll be a losing team. But depending on how quickly Tony Allen and Delonte West can get comfortable playing bigger minutes and produce good stats, we should be able to recover from the loss of Pierce. Its never an easy thing to lose a star player, and to think we won't feel the hurt initially is not giving Pierce enough credit. BUT, I do think its better for the long run because the way Tony Allen, Delonte West, Gerald Green, and Ryan Gomes play, they should make Rivers' system run better.

Greens gonna be good enough to replace Pierce in 3 years. Will he be another McGrady? I hope so only with a Reggie Lewis touch in him. He does have raw athleticism. Something that prevents Pierce from going farther. Pierce is unathletic and not very basketball smart. If Green isn't very basketball smart, at least he would have big time athleticism in his favor. That wont be the issue because Green will replace Pierce eventually and get 17ppg+ a night and will learn in a team system. This could mean higher ppg for him or it could stay right at the 17ppg area. WHO KNOWS. The whole team is unproven.

I think Green could average 40pts, 16reb and 14ast. I guess he "could", I might need to see him play first. lol
I wouldn't want to put a time-frame on any individual's growth or developement. Everyone is different.

Gee that was generous. He would be better than Lebron, Wade and McGrady himself if so! But yes, everyone has to play first. Too much speculation lately.

Hope springs eternal.
Allen really played well this summer league and at times last year. This kid may be the dark horse. I think with his defense and athleticism if he develops a better jump shot he will be a star down the road.

Yep, yep. He's my dark horse. He's an underrated ball handler, and he's a pretty good slasher. Plus, he can break down his man and get to the basket if he needs to. His jumper showed improvement over the summer, from the various reports that came out of the summer league.
