Not to mention, he was a 2nd leading scorer on that rookie team with Jefferson. I can see Allen becoming something like Artest if he develops a jumpshot and his defense even higher than where it is now. Only a guy like that without as many anger issues. Think of a future team with a Zach Randolph only without the baggage in Jefferson, A Reggie Lewis and Darius Miles player mixed in Green and A Ron Artest like player without the anger issues in Allen. An Eric Williams in Gomes. A Danny Ainge type in West. A Lorenzen Wright type in Perkins. Along with other role players that are already proven keepers like Ricky. This would be a dynasty if all these guys pan out in all of those ways. But its a big if. I can see it like this:
C, Perkins PF,Jefferson SF,Green SG,Allen PG,West --------- C, Raef PF,Scala SF,Gomes SG,Ricky PG,Banks/Greene/Saras**

I think if we lost PP it would be like when the Pats lost Bledsoe. The sky didn't fall cause they had someone to move into that role and step up. I think the Cs do too.

Pierce for draft picks would not be in our best interest if our goal is to compete next year. We would definitely taking a step or two back. However, if we are considering rebuilding around Al Jefferson, Perkins, Green, Tony Allen and Delonte West, I would not be opposed to shipping out Walker, Pierce, LaFrentz, and Blount. The four veterans will get you no more than 48 wins and a 2nd round playoff elimination year in and year out.

if you want to compete next year (with mediocre vets) be my guest. But like the old man said. Sometimes you need to cut off a finger to save the hand.

Ainge might be feeling the pinch from the owners, who want to start winning now. He may want to go with the youth movement, but may have outside influences pursuading him to do other things.

If the owners are so smart let them run the team.

That is the problem with owners. They think they know how to run a team and they think they know how to win championships. Peter Angelos, owner of the Baltimore Orioles, loves to meddle into the affairs of his baseball guys--the guys who are in charge of making the team better. Because of him, drafts were negatively affected and bad player acquisitions were made. Owners need to let their basketball brains (like Ainge) do the work. They know what's best.

I think if we lost PP it would be like when the Pats lost Bledsoe. The sky didn't fall cause they had someone to move into that role and step up. I think the Cs do too. And that young mans name is Green. This would indeed be like the pats losing Bledsoe. Not a biggie like so many people think. Then IF Boston won it all, Pierce would be crying to see they'd do it without him seeing his ego is huge. Id like all 4 vets gone replaced with new ones. I have them all handpicked already pretty much. Ainge might be feeling the pinch from the owners, who want to start winning now. He may want to go with the youth movement, but may have outside influences pursuading him to do other things. Our front office is terrible. Its a proven fact. This is what will not get good fa's to come here even if there is cap space. It could also influence our young guys to leave when their deals are up. Danny needs to run this team 100%. not WYC Grossbeck. The owners that want to win now are not patient. Dannys plan is to try winning each year but just not keeping around certain guys which management think will kill the team if they lose them. Not so. Blonut? I bet if it was up to management, theyd take Blonut over Perkins. Ainge is playing it smart. he is keeping Pierce until Green shows flashes that he can start and produce then hed be gone. But the owners would keep Pierce, Walker and Blonut no matter what if it was up to them totally. Thank god it isn't.

I was never a big EW fan. But I wouldn't mind him back now. Might be good in the locker-room.

Your poll question is a little vague, "between now & 2 years"
Now, we would win 30 maximum In 2 years? That's a long time, i can't see in the crystal ball how much our youngsters have developed.
