He definitely showed some major attitude problems last year. He seemed as if he was not interested in being on the court. And as soon as he'd receive a pass, he'd be launching it, sometimes without even being in any rhythm to catch and shoot. At times during the playoffs, I thought he was doing it to spite his teammates and coach Rivers.

Two possibilities of who I think will start at power forward:
possibility 1 - Toine starting playing 30 minutes a game, with Big Al playing 25-30 minutes off the bench swinging between the 4 and 5.
I still think that Ainge will resign Toine at a bargain price, but for a more reduced role, no 35-40 minutes per game. More like 30 minutes. If the Celts do resign him he will start over Big Al. I do not think Big Al is ready for major minutes this season.
I do not know where this would leave Scalabrini, probably swinging between 4, and 5, and possibly even the 3 at 15-20 minutes a game.
Possibility 2 - Raef LaFrentz 25-30 minutes a game
If Toine does not get resigned, I really do not see them trading for another starting power forward. In this case Lafrentz will get the nod as starter, with Big Al and Scalabrini swinging between the 4 and 5 backing up those positions.

Welcome aboard celtic4life! I might get all mixed up having a 'celtic4ever' and now a 'celtic4life'... ;D
With Reaf, Big Al, MBlount and Scalabrini the parts are kinda interchangeable between the 4 and 5, w/ Perk pretty much limited to the 5. I think Jefferson will have the first shot at the starting 4. We'll have to see how the young bigs do in the fouling department.
It's kinda like last year with Ricky Davis being the 6th-man, the key thing is the unit on the floor at the end of the game.

Hi...everyone! I'm from the beautiful islands of the Bahamas, where we lots of loyal (one team only) Celtics fans. I raed your posts everyday, and find them very interesting, however, according to "Doc", I get the impression that a vet will start at PF, while Al will come off the bench but will not be "pulled out"just when he makes a mistake.

Blonut will get the first nod from Doc. depending on how al does that will change. obviously if antoine came back then he would start, but i dont see him coming back. Welcome aboard. I heard on another board that Maxwell was on a Radio show and said Blonut was benched due to attitude problems. He may be given a clean slate come this season, but I think he will have to show something otherwise he will be right back on the bench. Blount has an attitude problem? I thought he got sat just due to lazy play and the Walker trade reduced his minutes even more. But, I can see where it was going when he threw bad passes on purpose like he was trying to lose games for them. I was saying all along, how could he be so terrible after getting many double doubles? It came down to 1 thing. A contract. Plus he was unhappy in Boston. Hes stuck here I'm afraid just due to his decline and poor attitude.

Call me crazy, but I wouldnt be surprised to see Raef and Blount starting at the beginning of the year. I doubt this would last the whole season, but my crystal ball has been getting some Blount vibes lately.
