Living in the New York area and seeing the Towers burn at the time was a pretty traumatic experience. Thinking Osama is dead is a very very strange feeling. I've never felt it before. It's not happy or sad. It's not proud. It's not clsoure. It's very weird and hard to explain
Eddie, you saw it right?

It's one of those things where I want to say nothing. I can't find the words to describe but I try anyways. I felt this way about an ex girlfriend once. Life goes on? Live and learn? Love is a great thing that drives us all but it also can destroy us.

When I first heard it, I was quite happy that the search was finally over. Heck it took ONLY tens of billions of dollars and thousands of man hours to search for him..but then watching what I thought was "excessive" celebrations started getting me worried again. Those muslims out there..those extremists and terrorists are watching those celebrations as well. It'll only enrage them further in my opinion, making it ever more dangerous as they seek a new cause for vengeance. So yeah..all I can say is this guy dead..has only made me more fearful of a future where in the eyes of quite a few, Osama is now a martyr.

I don't think we celebrated a tenth as much as they did when the Towers were destroyed.

I don't think we celebrated a tenth as much as they did when the Towers were destroyed. Yet they'll attack with even the smallest of reasons. They denounce Christianity and all that it stands for and yet the mere mention of their holy book possibly getting burnt by some pastor in America causes them to send death threats and the such. These bastards look for anything to give them a cause.. Heres a quote from a newspaper in my country: "American President Barack Obama said the world was a safer place after the demise of Osama bin Laden but supporters of the terrorists were already discussing avenging the terrorist leader's death. Calling it a "good day for America", Obama told an audience at a White House ceremony yesterday that the death of bin Laden had made the world "a better place". But a top al-Qaeda ideologue vowed revenge for the killing of bin Laden in the first jihadist admission of the militant leader's death."

I'm just not seeing the logic. It's like saying you can't kill Hitler because it will only make Germans madder. Well yeah. That's kinda the point. I assume it's a war and they're already mad

I assume it's a war and they're already mad Hitler didn't have suicide bombers. Well no I'm not saying he didnt deserve to die. Heck no far from that. I'd kill Hitler ten times over, Osama ten times over, the Khmer Rouge regime ten times over..all these evil sons of !!!GREENIAC!!! should go rot somewhere worse than hell. All I'm saying is that the highly publicized celebrations only enraged the terrorists further. And sadly though I wish America would just nuke the guys into oblivion, they dont. However the terrorists will not hesitate to sink as low as suicide bombing innocents and using other cowardly acts. To give them more motivation is the same as giving them more recruits who after seeing this will be less hesitant to join them. Thats basically my point. Yes its a good day. Yes he deserved to die. But the media should not have endangered the public but overexposing the celebrations to these guys.

I think if were an OBL fan the most visible thing I would have seen was kind of smuggly happy faces of reporters and the President. And if we keep with the Hitler analogy (so many similarities and differences) there were Germans after the war that kept up a guerila campaign and the celbrations at the end of WW2 were the party of the century

In reference to the media, I am not sure why websites that specializied in other areas (ex: ESPN) were reporting this news.

In reference to the media, I am not sure why websites that specializied in other areas (ex: ESPN) were reporting this news. I think it's because ESPN is owned by Disney or NBC or something. They're part of a wider media empire. Also it's unavoidable news. Like end of WW2 or something

Now we know the true difference between Bush and Obama. Bush really got Saddam. Within the hour we got video of soldiers picking his hair. With Obama it's "I've got the pics but they're too nasty for you and I buried the body at sea. You'll just have to trust me". Who does he think he is?

Oh wait. It's just "an administration official briefed by the White House saying that". There's still hope. Please please please let the official by Biden. He's always wrong
