I know you support the celtics and all but how come you claim the eastern conference as your own when you live in hawaii? If I came from the west coast or wester, Id root for seattle, sacramento or portland. Thats just my take on it though. When you were saying how you wanted detroit to take the title back to the east (your "so called" conference), it just seemed to make little sense for someone who comes from hawaii thats all.

I feel like I am an East coast person at heart. All my sports teams are on the East coast (Celtics, Orioles and Dolphins). My trip to the East coast confirmed it as well. I can see myself living in Boston (not really D.C.) while I know I wouldn't like it living in Cali.
I just feel more love for the East coast than the West coast. Don't know where it all came from, but that's how I feel.
It really isn't that strange, really. There are lots of Celtics fans living on the west coast, i.e. Oregon, Washington, Cali, etc. They may not openly root for them for fear of being ostrisized ;D but they do exist.

I know. I met one from Idaho online actually.
Its so weird how all your teams are on the east though. I cant get into supporting west teams because Im naturally from the east. I thought the sonics and spurs were gonna be my 2nd faves to the celtics for a west team because I rooted for the sonics in 96 and was a fan of david robinson in the earlier 90s to late 90s. I still like seattle but Im not a fan like I was before same with SA. I hope seattle gets back to the west someday though. I would think for baseball, the angels or giants would be your faves.

Not to offend anyone or stereotype, but I do feel like I belong more on the east coast than the west coast because I'm more of a person who minds his own business. The way I feel about the people on the east coast is that they work hard and are more inclined to mind their own business. But the west coast seems to be more of a sunshine, everything-is-happy, be-merry-with-your-neighbors, throw-dinner-parties-with-your-boss type of place. And I'm not really like that.
Like I said, I don't mean to offend anyone so please don't take any offense to what I just said. Its just my perception of things.

Tell me more on why west coasters dont mind their business enough. You mean west coasters or hawaiians? A lot of neighborhoods have the merryness in the east too if youre in certain places anyways. Are westerners too friendly for you or something?

I don't know, Johnny. I just like the Celtics, the Orioles and the Dolphins. And I enjoyed being on the East coast a lot more than I did during my visit to the West coast (Cali and Vegas).

I suppose you like the east coast better than hawaii to right? I included hawaii and the west coast also. I wouldn't like it out west I dont think. When I see arizona, all I see is deserts, brutal heat and just nothing to it. In colorado, I see roads that are dangerous to drive on due to the real high altitude and more mountain type people. In mid to southern california, I see mad rushes all hours of the day and in LA, I d probably see a lot of primadonnas walking certain streets down there. I see washington state as dismal and all rainy same with oregon. I envision the west to be the part of the usa I wouldn't care for either. NYC and NJ is pretty bad for the east and the boston area is getting worse with the taxes and house prices but theres a better feel to being there than the west anyways. If you went to boston derren, you would see that not too many people are tourist friendly. If you ask where something is, few people would be helpful towards you. Theres more places on the east coast more livable like FLA and parts of RI.

Really? My buddies and I had an enjoyable time in Boston. I felt more welcomed in Boston than I did in D.C. People really treated us well, even on the streets. We did ask for directions and got no hastles or anything like that.

There are some people in boston who are nice and all but some are also rude like NY. Maybe you ran into some of the out of staters who moved there because theres all colleges and a lot of those people are nicer. If you met some nice people who talked a little more articulate than "pahhk the cahh" they were probably from out of state. If you go near fenway, thats a nice section of the city to walk like where the tower records is and where the hospitals are.

Are you sure you're not the only mean guy in Bahsten, Johnny? ;D ;D JK I think the reason why we didn't get harrassed also is because we tried to blend in as much as possible. We dressed like everyone else and we weren't tourist-ee at all. I had a black Celtics skull cap on, no cameras, I wore a brown suede jacket, dark blue jeans, timberlands, etc. And we weren't all smiles and in awe as we walked down the streets to Fanuiel Hall, the City Hall, the Fleet Center, etc. For the most part, I think we did an excellent job of fitting in because we never got the "looks" from the locals as if we stuck out like a sore thumb like most tourists do.

Yea, that would do it then. If you wore a hillbilly flannel like I used to, people would think that you weren't with it. You wanna hear a funny story. I didn't get harrassed but its a lil humorous:
I went to NYC back in 99 right, and I wore a pacers t shirt and a montreal expos hat and nobody mentioned it to me (pacers rivalry and all) not to mention a celtics shirt also during that same week.

Why you wouldn't wear an expos hat and a pacer t shirt into NYC?
