I don't know about any of you but I feel he will be a top 5 pick possibly the 2nd pick from Bogut going first. He had a great game today as I observed and Felton also showed some of his greatness with his passes and offense. McCants seems big too. Imagine if this NC big 3 gets picked within the top 10 picks or maybe 15 in McCants case.

I think McCants might go higher than that. Should be interesting. I could see Marvin, May, McCants and Felton all going early if Williams comes out.

Sean May is a very good talent. He's one of the best PF's in the college ranks. He's a good rebounder, a good scorer, and he knows how to work the kiss shot off the backboard.
My only drawback is that he's not the type of PF who bullies his way to the basket. He's more of a "feeler"--a guy who feels where the defender is and works from there. I guess Al Jefferson is this way too.
But getting May in the draft will be solid. I won't complain with that pickup.

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between May, and say...Lonny Baxter, the former U Maryland great? I remember Baxter manhandling Okafor in the Final8 game vs. UCONN. And, to be honest, Baxter is a a 12th man NBA player.

Just a question guys... Are there Bigs out ther with soft hands? A player can learn to rebound and post up. You can't teach good hands or quickness. I don't see enough college games to make a guess. TIA

You can't teach good hands or quickness. edit myself--- You can teach these.... By the time they're pros, it cost too much, unless they're HS kids. Then you need some vets to carry the team untill they are ready.

Well, there's a big difference between Lonny Baxter and Sean May. Offensively, Baxter never had the offensive ability May already has. In terms of the feel of the game, Sean May also has the upperhand.
Baxter had more physicality and is/was a tougher player. But you never heard of Baxter being tabbed as a lottery possibility when he came out in '02. Chris Wilcox was the big man on campus at Maryland.
Sean May, when he does come out and enter the draft, could be a lottery pick, and if not, a top 20 pick in the first round.

C17, to a point, you can teach a player how to use his hands better by teaching him how to get his hands us quicker, in better catching position, and hand eye coordination drills. But you can't teach quickness. Its hard to turn long endurance muscles into quick twitching shorter muscles, if its possible at all.
There are actually quite a few big men who have soft hands. Lot of the top big men in the counrty have soft hands. For certain, Andrew Bogut and Sean May. But also Chris Taft and Ike Diogu do also.
Wayne Simien and Ronny Turiaf have good hands as well, but not as good as the players mentioned above.
Sheldon Williams and Charlie Villanueva could use some work.

Charlie V needs some work, mainly because UCONN didn't run many set plays for him this year. The majority of his points were all on broken plays, or attacking the rim.
By the way, first time I have seen these new smilies. Wicked cool.

I looked at Sean May like a totally developed Perkins if indeed May is a sr. Id say more a mix between Blount (with his shots) and Perkins only with more fundamentals but also weaker than Perkins potential defensively but still has some of the toughness but also like a better version of Blount. There are some good guys to go after. Danny I don't think can lose even with a pick between 18-21. I believe Adam Morrison comes out next year though. Hes probably gonna be recieving much hype about being another Larry Bird in 2006.

that might be the case with morrison indeed. i hope we get danny granger if morrison stays in school. garcia wouldn't be bad either but we have too many smaller wings already

A tall wing who can play sf well would lock a sf spot tight would be great to have whereas a smaller sf can switch to a guard (ex, Ricky davis, Paul Pierce, Kedrick Brown). And our team has just enough of those.

I dont think May will be that good a pro. He is an undersized garbage type PF at the pro level imo.

I take this back too. May is huge. He could be Derrick Coleman without the lazyness.
