salim stoudamire is really impressing me in that arizona game (i still think red-ick is the better shooter-see that other thread) but i like stoudamire's game, what do you think of him derren? Would you mind if the celtics had him as a backup pg? Derren- I had the same thoughts as Cesco about Stoudamire... What ya you see Bro?

...............and the defending champions are eliminated. NC State defeats UCONN. Went down to the wire. Not putting the blame on just one individual, but that final possession, which turned out to be the game winner, Villanueva fell asleep on defense and allowed Julius Hodge to get to the basket too easily. On that pick, he needed to rotate quicker to cover Hodge, but didn't.
Calhoun was substituting Boone for Villanueva on defense, and would rotate V back into the rotation on offense late in the game.
Oh well. My pick to win it all is still Illinois, so I'm still in the thick of things.

From watching this year's tournament, and combining this from past years tournament, things I should no better not to do:
1. Pick BC to win a game - the team is poorly coached, and chokes every year
2. Pick Pitt to go far in the tournament - like BC, but sometimes get by w/ talented players, like Knight
3. NC State - I pick them...the lose, I don't pick them they win...go figure
4. Gonzaga - sorry, the cinderalla magic has disappeared; when they are counted on to win, they always fail in the clutch
5. The 5/12 game...can't get this right...I thought Granger would carry the team, didn't happen

Derren,I will add one more ironic idea to the mix...this year I got to watch UCONN play 4 times...all losses to UMASS, OU, UNC, Syracuse.

Derren,I will add one more ironic idea to the mix...this year I got to watch UCONN play 4 times...all losses to UMASS, OU, UNC, Syracuse. Ouch!! Do us another favor, RR--do not watch any more Celtics games the rest of the year. Please, we beg of you. Our joy and happiness lies in your decision to NOT watch any of the Celtics games--especially when playoff comes around. If not ..................... well, C17, you think we should send out the hitmen?

Down to the Sweet 16!!
Here's a layout of who will play who (my picks will be in parenthesis):
Louisville vs. Washington (I like Nate Robinson, but I think Louisville will win)
West Virginia vs. Texas Tech (I don't like TTech, but I think they will win)
Mil-Wisconsin vs. Illinois (Illinois)
Arizona vs. Oklahoma State (OSU)
NC State vs. Wisconsin (NC State)
Villanova vs. North Carolina (UNC)
Michigan State vs. Duke (Duke)
Utah vs. Kentucky (Utah--Bogut is playing too good right now) -----------------------------------------------------------

Derren, celtic17 is cool...he may even hook me up if I decide to run the Bix 7miler in Iowa. Will see.
Had one nice game this tournament,or pick...Louisville in the Final 4.
I am still hot pver UCONN losing. How many games did they lose down the stretch? All of them. I really think if Price didn't get hurt (the freshmen PT guard, who had the brain hem.) , they would have one it all again.

Sorry Derren... Once my Hawks are out (early) I lose some intrest in NCAA ball. Runner knows I was picking on him. I hope... I was a track stud in HS RR... 800m my best time was 2:03 in the open race and 2:01 in relays. Also ran some road races in my early 20s - some 10, 15 & 20k races. I was a good pace runner at one time... edit- To brag a bit... I ran on the 3000 medly relay that still holds a record at my HS. About 23 years ago. I should add that race hasn't been run for about 10 years now... ;D
