Let this thread be comprised of thoughts and comments regarding anything related to March Madness.
Lots of upsets today. UNC was ousted in the ACC touney. So was Kansas. But both teams will get at large bids and make it to the dance.
C17's Iowa lost at the buzzer when Wisconson banked in a shot as time expired.
Will Bynum, I just found out today, is a long time friend of Tony Allen. They both grew up in Chicago and have played against each other. Bynum is a tough-as-nails competitor and though he isn't blessed with a lot of height or athleticism, the guy gets the job done--a lot of times over taller and longer opponents. He'd be a good scrappy guy to have on the team. So would Nate Robinson, the 5'8" dynamo. Danny Granger from New Mexico is making a strong showing for the draft, but my sleeper pick on the Lobo's team is Albert Neale. Watch out for this guy. Not a big name, but if a team takes a chance on him, they'll get a surprise.

Adam Morrison would be nice although he would probably start off really slow like Luke Jackson is. Gonzaga is a good team though. As far as Will Bynum, he can be a pickup in the 2nd round for sure. Maybe even in the 40 something range. I mentioned him before. Funny. And now hes being talked about more. How about Elton Brown of VA? Anyone know about him? How about Tony Parkers brother from Northwestern?

Couple of PG's who'll go in the second round to keep an eye on are Daniel Ewing of Duke and Nate Robinson of Washington. Robinson has his work cut out for him being 5'8" and all. But this short stuff is one of the fiercess competitor out there. He climbs the backs of giants and gets some putback dunks!! He's even one of Washington's better rebounder. He's really powerfully built, but quick and shifty and he knows how to get separation from his defender.
Daniel Ewing always had that potential label on his back, but he never made good on it. He won't be a starter at the next level, but I'm betting he'll make a very good backup. Got an excellent three point touch and he's a decent PG. Very quick and can attack the basket. He doesn't show fear on the court. Reminds me of Darrel Armstrong, but without the caffein.

Speaking of Nate Robinson being 5'8. Look at the guys who made it who slid in drafts. Boykins. Hes one of the best sparkplug pgs in the league. Bogues most importantly and Spud Webb.

Yeah, Earl Boykins is a good example. And Nate is a lot more aggressive than Boykins. I haven't seen Boykins dunk a ball yet, but Robinson can flush it down with 2 hands. Robinson surprised many GM's last year in the Chicago predraft camp so they know all about him. I think he has a chance to slide into the first round.

Aaah..the madness of march...best basketball of the year, can't wait for the tourney to begin, what are you guys' thoughts on the brackets? I personally can see a duke-UNC classic down the line (although chances are some upset is gonna be pulled off to prevent that from happening), or what about washington getting the 1 seed? I think they deserved it definitely, but i wasn't expecting the commitee to reward them with it, your thoughts?

With coach Weber's mother passing away, what better way to soothe the anguish of losing her than by winning the national championship? I'm feeling that Illinois, Kansas, G-Tech, and Duke will be the Final Four contestants. And Illinois will win it all.

Nate sounds more like the description of Spud Webb seeing Spud could throw it down with no trouble. Danny may very well go after him as a 3rd pg but GP better not re-sign if so.

let the games begin! i studied long and hard, ok well about 7 mins, but i filled out my brackets and came up with my final four.
Illinois- they are like a pro team. Gonzaga- they have size in Turiaf and a gun slinger in Morisson. this will be morisson's national party. he is going to led them to the final four Uconn- again like a pro team. a little worried about only one point guard. But its my team! Cuse. a great draw from them in their bracket, their zone d will dominate everyone (and they will have to hope JJ Red has an off shooting night)
uconn wins the whole thing, of course.

hey, what about unc? personally i would put unc instead of syracuse up there, but if unc falls short again it's actually better for us since their high-name players could fall in the draft...

Gotta go with Illinois. This is their year. Deron Williams, Dee Brown, Luther Head, Roger Powell, Augustine, etc. These guys play excellent team ball.
UCONN has a shot if Boone and Villanueva have big games and if Rudy Gay, Denham Brown, and Marcus Williams provide strong role support.
And UNC is always a threat, but something about them just doesn't give me full confidence in their ability to win it all.
Gonzaga and Washington have outside chances. I'll have fun watching UCLA and Jordan Farmar. Lets see how far Andrew Bogut can take his Utah teammates.

Got to see parts of the UCLA game (they lost ). Jordan Farmar is quickly becoming one of my favorite college PG's. He's got some Kirk Hinrich in him, which raises his stock in my book. Smart kid who feels the game really well. I've watched him a lot in the past but I never really thought much of Dijon Thompson--but today, he really had it going. He could be a big SF to keep an eye out for in the second round. Sort of in the same boat as Jawad Williams from UNC. Versatile SF who can do many things on the court well. Thompson is a bit more athletic. Pittsburg was eliminated! Wow. So were Texas and LSU. I was hoping those teams would have stayed longer because I wanted to see Taft, Krauser, Daniel Gibson, and Brandon Bass more in pressure situations like the NCAA tourneys.
