I thnk we have a pretty solid rotation right now with Baby coming along, with House, Posey, Baby and Pollard. That leaves TA as the swing guard off the bench. Hopefully Pruitt will come along and be the extra pg we need. And Scal and Powe provide frontcourt depth. I wouldn't be surprised if TA, Powe, Scal are being shopped around the deadline maybe to bring in a pg or another big man, although I dont really see any reason too either. We might be able to find what we need on the waiver wire.

TAllen would be a terrific boost to our bench depth. Right now, he's not playing well, but we should all realize that this is how he played early last year, before he got his game on track and started looking like a borderline honorary All-Star. But being that he doesn't have a guarantee beyond this season, he's going to have to make his move now. I really like Tony's potential, but he seems to have an attention disorder, and this could be his stumbling block.
House and Posey are the reliable backups right now, and Baby is starting to make his presence felt. He's a terrific energy guy.
What's interesting is that the bench seems to be playing more consistently right now, than the starters.

I agree Derren. There really is no need to make a move. We should just let things shape up and let players get in shape and find their roles. The bench is coming along nicely. We can always add another pg or big man off the wire at some point if need be.

But I wouldn't be opposed to bring good player in. For instance, if Zo would like to play for a champion this year, I would bring him in. Even at this stage, he's still a beast on defense, and he's just as intense as Garnett.

I think we will hear more talk about possibly making a move around the deadllne to see where we are and what we need.

The question is, who would we trade?

Perkins hasnt proved anything. Zo is still a better player and he would belong in the starting lineup. I think we shouldve signed Charles Oakley to come in and do the dirty work. He also couldve taught Perkins alot. Instead we gave that James Posey too much money. They should trade him, I dont like having a [deleted by admin] player on the team.

Someone is angry Al Jefferson got traded... There's nothing wrong with posey although I do wonder sometimes if players get sick of hugging him every game. Anyways lets keep the slamming of celtics players to a minimum. You've posted 3 times and bashed Posey, Rondo, Pierce and Allen. In honestly you just make yourself sound homophobic by making comments like that and like you yourself have a mancrush on Al J.

I wouldnt have minded picking up a vet like Oakley, but that lunatic is on record saying that he wouldnt play for less than 5 mill a year. He has to be out of his mind if he thinks someone in their 40s that much money.

I find myself laughing at Tony Allen almost every time they play. Watching him every year is literally like watching a Seinfeld episode. We laugh, cringe and applaud all at the same time. He starts out the year a little disorganized and the audience isn't so sure where his game is going, then his game begins to come together piece by piece in the middle. By the end of the season, we become amazed at how good he is, and everything comes together making for an amazing episode!...I mean season!
In all seriousness I have come to the realization that Tony is just the type of player that you have to take the good with the bad. He is a "player," meaning his agenda on the court is not to sit back and be an efficient, low turnover, solid player. The way he gets his rhythm is to make plays, attack the rim, and score! He is also a guy whose offensive game actually seems to affect his defensive game. When he's getting to the line and making jumpers, he begins to make more plays on the defensive end. He also plays with a lot of confidence, maybe sometimes too much, and this gets him in trouble at times. However, I'd much rather have a guy like that then someone who is afraid to shake things up out there. What he lacks for basketball IQ in some areas (decision making, dribbling too much) he makes up for in his ability to beat anyone off the dribble and get to the line as good as anyone.

Exactly, Moreese. That's why I have a liking for TAllen. He's got the goods to be a fantastic player--but he's got to get his head in order. Focus is not his srong suit.

And his ADD could be what keeps him from reaching his potential--or even remaining a Celtic beyond this season. I like Tony, but if we have to go through this every single season, where he stinks for the first half of the season and then turns into a player in the second half, its going to drain us fans.
