I expect Pruitt and Wallace to be on the inactive list. KG, Pierce and Ray Allen played with such passion in the preseason that you wonder what more they can do in the regular season. I expect them to come out with purpose and take over this game from the start. Gilbert Arenas has made several comments about how the Celtics are going to lose their home opener and how this team is over hyped and I don't think those comments will be lost on our three big veterans.  Off the Bench      Blatche/Daniels/McGuire/Percherov/Blatche/Songaila Notes: Gilbert Arenas has had it in for Boston ever since they promised to take him in the first round of the draft and didn't do so and he slipped to the second round. He has been predicting a Celtics loss in their home opener and I am sure he is going to do all he can to make it happen. I am also sure that his comments have fired up the Celtics as well. It is interesting to see that Haywood is back as their starting center since just after last season the word was that his nameplate was removed from his locker and he was on the way out. Key Matchup: vs Rajon Rondo vs Gilbert Arenas Rondo is starting the season with a very tough matchup. Arenas wants to win this game and is going to take it to Rondo at every opportunity. Rondo's defense is going to be as important in this game as will be his ability to run the team.  to the Game:1. Control the tempo of the game - energy and hustle 2. Defense, Defense, Defense 3. Controt the boards 4. Ubuntu - All for one. Move the ball and find the open man. Play unselfishly and play as a team. |

So ready for the new season.
One question. Why didn't the Celts make it a must that the new Garden have GREEN on it rather than blue. I understand it might be for marketing for the TD Bank but they should have made green a must.

The way I see it, our head to head matchup with the Wiz is 3-1-1. We have the upperhand in 3 of the matchups (KG > Jamison, Pierce > Butler, RAllen > Stevenson), 1 tie (Perk and Haywood are even), and 1 loss (I like Rajon but Arenas is better).
They don't have a great bench, and neither do we. But I do think our bench is better, so I guess we have the upperhand there as well.
Overall, as long as nerves don't get in our way, we should win this game by 7 pts.
My prediction for this game, 89 - 82. KG with 22 pts, RAllen with 19, and Pierce with 15. Our complementary players (Perk, Rondo, and the bench) comes through with scoring help.

I can't even describe how excited I am for tonight's game! I know I'm going to get goosebumps when Paul, Kevin, and Ray take the court to start the game. Gilbert Arenas is going to eat his words...I'm predicting a Celtics blowout by at least 20 points.

Gentlemen, and not so "gentle" men, "Let the games begin"!
I look forward to great drama tonight and this season, in close games against the tougher opponents; As well as satisfiying wins by more than a comfortable score in match ups such as tonights. I also predict a very energized Celtics first quarter by our starters and the setting of a lead that does not change game long in this one. I am just going to marvel at the individual team plays moment by moment in seeing how this goal is accomplished this game and throughout the year, as our team pulls together to overcome.
Perdiction, without Posey, should be a 15 point spread with the Celtics scoring 105...
