ESPN is reporting that the Wolves are trading former Celtics Ricky Davis and Mark Blount to Miami for former Celtic Antoine Walker. What is it with the Wolves and former Celtics? Pat Riley gets rid of Antoine, Ricky D comes to FL and Big Al doesn't have to play with Blount any more. Good deal. sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3077037

I wouldn't be shocked that Minny end up buying out Walker's contract especially have 3 guys to cut before the season starts.
This could be the Walker/Celtics reunion part 3 coming up... We do really need some veteran big-man on this roster.

we don't need Walker, he can't play no more, just can eat. This deal is good only for Miami

I am calling it right now--Chris Mihm, Vitaly Potapenko, Milt Palacios, Shammond Williams, and David Wesley will be Wolves by the end of the year. Any current player who ever had ties with us will be gobbled up by McHale.
Ricky Davis goes back with the team that gave up on him.

See I actually think we need a big man who can score off the bench. Walker would be a good fit to be a 6th man. Big Baby davis will eventually be that but he isn't yet.

Yeah, I actually wouldn't mind seeing Walker here off the bench. I would have said no before we brought in RAllen and Garnett, but with those two guys, I know Walker won't be able to take hold of the reins and take control of this team.
Only problem is that Walker is on the tail end of his career, but will still play a big part off the bench. This will sacrifice Baby's and Powe's developmental time on the court.

I honestly still think Walker's heart is still with the celtics. I think he's kind of been floundering these past couple years because of that. I think if he came back here he would get in shape and play really hard.
Maybe this move is the start of something else and Antoine is saying I want to come back to boston. If he really does he will do something about his contract and take less money.

haha and why he must play here, a player that can shoot of the bench, yeah Walker was a player that can shoot now he can't now he can bust 2/15 a game.... something that we don't need, cause if this is our problem, everyone on our team can shoot and miss shots like this grandpa

I just think we need a scorer off the bench. The thing with Walker is i think he's more suited as a 6th man because you can just sit him down when he is having nights like that. Other nights he'd provide a spark. House is one guy that can do that for us but i dont really see anyone else that can do that. Most of our other bench guys are more just consistant players that arent going to put up a ton of pts like powe and posey and stuff. They are more standard roleplayers. They are solid and good but they aren't really 6th men and guys that really provide a spark. IMO, what walker is all about he is the perfect kind of player for that.

Well thats thing if he really wants to get another shot here he should get his (censored) together. I do think if he did he could play a good role for us.

Just say no to Antoine. He doesnt take care of himself, and he may have had the worst season (% wise) that the NBA ever seen last year.

I'm not convinced Toine can run a lap down the court without almost having a heart attack and then saying "I'll be fine. I'll be fine. just give me a cheeseburger".
I think he just wants to come here cause he wants to take back his wiggle from Big Baby

Not at all interested in seeing Walker here again at this point in his career, out of shape, older and ready to put it up...
I really do believe the offence has pleanty of punch and will put up great numbers once they all get into the season, I see these last few games as an abberation and the shooting percentages from the outside reflect that as well as missed lay ups. As well, coaches were purposely designing 3 point shooting to feel out that stratagy here in preseason, all of which contribuited to low game scoring which resulted in a few losses.
Upshot, is I do think the offence as is, is going to be potent and in need of no further shooters. Which leads me to the potential of Big Baby as evidenced in this last game. There's your 6th man in assention to the roll with more playing time to develope, rather than bringing in a Walker type which would stunt the develpment of the bench within this season, given play time, IMO...
I can apprecciate Walkers play in the past here, but I just don't see it as a good fit this season...
