vs Boston Celtics vs New Jersey Nets Friday, October 19 Preseason game #4 TV: Comcast SportsNet DCU Center, Worcester, Massachusetts Probable Starting Matchups Point Guard vs Rajon Rondo vs Darrell Armstrong With Kidd out with back issues, Darrell Armstrong got the nod at PG last night and did a decent job but he isn't in Kidd's league. Rondo should be able to match up well with him. Shooting Guard vs Ray Allen vs Vince Carter Ray Allen will need some help on defense against Carter and we will see if our defense has truly improved. Both of these players can score and the difference will come on the defensive end. Small Forward vs Paul Pierce vs Richard Jefferson Jefferson is a good defender and Pierce will have his work cut out for him in this game. But the beauty of this team is that when one player has a tough match up, the others can step up and take up the slack. Power Forward vs Kevin Garnett vs Nenad Krstic Garnett should win this matchup easily and I expect to see the ball go to KG quite a bit in this game. Center vs Kendrick Perkins vs Jason Collins Perk should be able to play Collins evenly. He needs to stay out of foul trouble though. Game Notes It is hard to predict who New Jersey will play tonight. On NBA TV I just heard Richard Jefferson say that he wouldn't be travelling to Boston for tonight's game. I guess the Nets don't want to give the Celtics an opportunity to beat them at full strength this early. If the Nets don't play their starters, chances are, Doc may rest ours as well since we have 4 games in 5 nights and he has said that they won't play in all of the games. It will be impossible to predict starting lineups with coaches resting starters and looking at players on the bubble.

As far as preseason games go, I have to say I'm looking forward to this one. Our preseason schedule was really set up great this year. The rome and london trip were great for bonding this team imo. And then coming home and trouncing the knicks and this is a great final test to really see where we are at going into the season.

I also look at those matchups every time you post them FL and smile. The nets are a good team but we still win in the matchups in probably 4 spots. Although Allen and Carter is very close... Same with Perk and Collins. Jefferson is also a good player but Pierce is better. The same could be said for kidd and Rondo though. Kidd is proven, but Rondo is no slouch. We also have a better bench then they do. The nets are our biggest concern in the division......... I think we are a better team. Garnett is a huge factor.... If we didnt have Garnett I'd say we were about even. But Garnett and the bench makes us a better team.

This game should serve as a good gauge of where we are as a team. The Nets are indeed a seasoned team who has been playing together for many years--they know each other very well.

Second half is cancelled due to the conditions of the floor to avoid injury. The Celtics agreed to stay to sign autographs for the fans afterwards.

The Celtics are sitting at the scorers table and signing autographs. Rondo is with Lucky shooting Tee shirts into the crowd. Stopping the game was a good thing considering that the players were slipping and it was getting pretty ugly because of the conditions on the court.

Sorry, I was a little scared for the players as they weren't prepared at all to hold an autograph to a crowd like that. Thank fully these people didn't get rile up as much as i thought they would (Worcester is cruddy city). Good thing celtics were giving refunds becuz i would've been really upset (spent $100 for tickets).
