Big Al Jefferson is up for a contract extension, and so far it hasn't happened yet. I believe Minnesota has until Oct. 31st to get a deal done, so there's roughly 15 days left.
Its my biggest hope that Big Al truly wants to come back home to Boston, and doesn't want to re-up with Minny so that next summer he can suit up in a Celtics uni again.
Anyways, we'll be monitoring the contract negotiations to see what happens.

The poor guy so wants to be back in Boston--his heart is practically crying to be in Waltham's practice facility again with his Celtics family. I think if he knew that Ainge would somehow make the necessary room to bring him back, he'd avoid signing a contract with Minny.

But to make room for Jefferson, Ainge would have to move KG, PP, or Allen, and that is not happening.

Minesotta offer to Jefferson extension for 5 years for $50 mill and he reject the offer, he will wait to the next summer when he will be restricted free agent. Wow that's a big game from him I don't know another so young player who will reject an offer for $50 mill just like that

$10 million is not fair market value for AJ.

$10 million is not fair market value for AJ. Agreed. I'd say Al will be able to get somewhere in the neighbor hood of a 5/60 or 5/65 contract no problem. When projects like Nene and Dalembert can 10 large without putting up significant numbers, you'd think Al could trump their contracts.

Derren I'm sorry but you gotta let AL go. I had to let of Gomes. We have to move on. He's gone now.

Derren I'm sorry but you gotta let AL go. I had to let of Gomes. We have to move on. He's gone now. LOL, yea Big Al is not walking through that door Derren. How could the Celtics sign him this summer? Do you really think he is going to take that big of a pay cut, just to play for the Celtics? I think not.

Yes, I think he would take a pay cut to be back in Boston. Yeah, but not that big of a pay cut. He'd go from making 11-13 million a year with another team to making 5-6 mill a year to play with us (M.L.E.). heck, I'd be mad at Al for turning away that much money. Dude could do a lot of good for his family and community with that kind of scratch.
