That is good news. I always kind of liked Dahntay Jones as a garbage man scorer. I think he will be competing with wallace obviously and Batista will be competing with our other big men. If both these guys make it i wonder who wont make the cut.

I think Dahntay Jones is being brought in to be our athletic swing man off the bench. With Tony's recovery in consideration, and not a likely chance that Brandon Wallace will be on the floor much (if any at all--I think he's NBDL bound), if Dahntay can prove he can run the floor and hit open shots in spot minutes off the bench, he's going to make the team.
Well, lets see what Batista can prove in spring training. Now's the time to earn a spot on the team. He's got to put it all on the floor now--no holding back.

Nice i loved Dahntay when we drafted him.
He will be our GG replacement. (Too bad he went to Dook)
Rondo/House RayRay/Jones/Allen (till 100%) PP34/Posey KG/Powe/Batista/Davis/Scal Perk/Batista/Pollard
NBDL: Pruitt/Wallace
Damn I wish we could cut pollard or scal

Who was that other swingman we signed besides wallace? I can never remember his name. I 'm assuming Dahntay will be competing with those two, one will get cut, one to the nbdl. Batista or Pruett for the final spot. Either go extra big man, or extra pg. I figure we go with the extra big man since we can send Pruitt to the nbdl.

I don't know one thing who of our man can be cut, and who have a guaranteed contract and can't be cut. I think we must cut (if we can, cause I don't know who we can cut), Manuel and Wallace, and sign with Batista and Jones

Wallace has a partially guaranteed contract and Manuel has a non guaranteed contract. I think Wallace was signed for a just in case and Jones can fill that role. Batista should definitely be signed over and above Manuel. We need another center and Batista is just 24 and has a lot of potential. We will keep Pruitt. He has potential as a back up PG, which we also need.

Jackie Manuel should be the guy to go, and most likely, Brandon Wallace will be the other cut.
The only way I see Brandon Wallace taking a roster spot away from Batista or Dahntay is if he plays perfect basketball this training camp and preseason--he has to dominate. Otherwise, using a roster spot on a developing young big man makes more sense.

i dont think anyone will get cut. pruitt and bigbaby will probably end up in the nbdl which will be good for the team as we will have a much better idea on what to improve on. Great signings by DA though. Batista gives us more depth at the 5 and Djones gives us another lock down defender

Hey there, Mr4thquarter. Welcome to Celtics Green. Hope you find our community to your liking.
Our roster is currently 2 players over the limit, and we need to get down to 15 by the time season starts. NBDL players also count on the roster. We can only have 12 active players on the team, so that means the other 3 can't suit up and play. I'm thinking Gabe Pruitt will be one of those inactive guys, maybe Estaban Batista too (assuming he makes the team).
1) Garnett 2) Pierce 3) RAllen 4) Rondo 5) Perkins 6) Pollard 7) Powe 8) Big Baby 9) Scalabrine 10) Posey 11) TAllen 12) House 13) Pruitt 14) Dahntay 15) Batista
16) Manuel 17) Wallace
This will be interesting--who goes on the inactive list? I think Pruitt will go. I guess Batista, too. Maybe TAllen initially to get his legs back, but once he's good to go, someone else needs to be on the inactive list. Maybe Big Baby Davis.

I'm beginning to like our depth enough that I wonder if it could be Scala that gets sat down

Oh you know Scalabrine is not going to go on the IA list if he's healthy. He's a gamer, and I really do think he offers good things. I have no problem with Scal. Especially on this star studded squad--he could very well turn out to be a fan favorite.
Yeah, I'm also liking how the rest of the lineup is forming. We've got some nice looking pieces for the future as well. I don't expect too much from Batista, but if he one day becomes our backup Center, I'll be happy with that. And with Powe, Big Baby, and Perk, I think we can have a solid looking PF/C mix (though I'm still hoping for a star caliber PF, and if its not too much to ask, a star caliber Center too). Tony Allen and Rajon will make a terrific backcourt combo, and Pruitt can be a nice combo to fill in at the 1 and 2. Usually, wing players are easier to find, so I'm sure Ainge will draft a really good 3 in the upcoming drafts.

thanks for the warm welcome DERRENMATTS.... I think manuel and wallace will end up on the IA list with pruitt and davis going to the nbdl.
i like scal. scal will have a much easier task this year and he will show he is a "gamer". Scal has the same basketball IQ as jordan only he doesnt have the skills. Scal will be another glue guy on this team for sure.
Im very excited about the coming season. im sure you all are as well. Watch out for Powe, perkins and rondo. i think they will benefit from the big trio the most out of all the other players. Fantasy players better get them on your team.
