So I suppose this is to say if a trade was offered of a decent player for GG or TA most people on this thread would rather trade TA? I'd have to see him play healthy a few months and see GG play during the regular season too

I was just reading something about the first summer game against Portland. They said GG showed his upside. Can you still say that about a player starting his 3rd season in the League? Did they say that about Delonte or AL J at the start of their 3rd years?

There are other players i wouldnt trade either. I just think it would be a shame to trade Gerald. He isnt there yet but he is going to be good someday. it just would make no sense to me to bring in Ray Allen for 2 or 3 years and trade Gerald who should be good for the next 10-15 years or so.

Definitely keep Gerald Jefferson Rondo all others I would consider expendable.

I would like to hold onto Gerald. But if there's a trade that comes up that makes us better right now, and the player is also young enough to be a big part of our future, then I think you'd have to trade Gerald. Ideally, we'd hold onto him and he becomes a star player, though.

My gut-level feeling is that you guys are going to be adding Perk to the list of people you don't want to let go.

This is pretty much my core and who I would not trade. I'm not saying this is set in stone, but I dont see any reason to. This is just my opinion and i can understand why some people say if you have the right offer anyone is expendable but i disagree. this is who i would build around.
Rondo Allen Pierce Jefferson Perk Green Big Baby
TA is close to being on that list
Gomes or Powe is expendable in the right deal. Telfair, Ratliff. Allan Ray, Pruitt., Wallace, Scal. Its not like I dont like these guys. Gomes, Powe, Allan Ray, Wallace and Pruitt, I think have decent futures in this league but their upside is limited why they are on the list of potential trade fodder. Telfair is one guy thats hard to figure out. He has a lot of upside but he has issues. If I were going to make a trade I'd offer Ratliff, Gomes or Powe and Telfair or Allan Ray for a big man if I had to decide. 3 for 1. I'd guess Ratliff, Gomes and TElfair have the most value in a trade. Maybe swap TA in there, but i would trade Gomes before I'd trade TA. That's just my opinion although I like them both. Glenn Davis is a guy you could swap for Gomes as well. The way I see it Davis, Powe or Gomes, one of them has to go. I just think Davis has more upside ultimately then any of our small PF's, and to be that 6th man type guy. And then sign a vet pg as a replacement.

My gut-level feeling is that you guys are going to be adding Perk to the list of people you don't want to let go. Perk would already be ahead of Green on that list for me for three reasons: 1) His attitude A gym fiend, a hard worker, not afraid to say what needs to be said. 2) His positional scarcity 5s have much more value than swingmen. 3) His contract. This may be the most important one. Look what other young bigs are making. We've got Perk locked up long term for a steal.

Pierce, RA, and Jefferson are the only ones I wouldn't trade away at this point. Everyone else can be had at the right price. Rondo could possibly be part of that group but, he needs to have confidence in his shot.
Far as GG goes, where are we going to find the playing time for him? We've two all-stars playing at his position which only gives us maybe 20 minutes total to distribute amongst TA, Pruitt, Wallace, and Gomes. If it was me, I would try to move GG and Theo to get ourselves a young front-court player hopefully at the center position. Or, go after a distinguish veteran like Mike Bibby/Brad Miller. Atleast they can come here give us a good push in the playoffs.

GG should only be getting 15-20 mins per game anyways at this point in his career. I think having Allen here puts Gerald where he should be. Allen is only going to be here for 3 years anyways, GG will be 23 and ready to start at that point. Gerald still has a ways to go. I just really would hate to trade Gerald because we have Ray Allen, that would bea mistake that will haunt this franchise imo. He can still contribute as a roleplayer until his time comes. We need scoring off the bench anyways and he would be a good fit. With Wally and Delonte gone that's another reason to keep him. Right now we basically only have TA who's hurt and Gerald backing up two positions along with Ray and Pruitt .

Now the question is... who does doc favor more GG or TA? Only one of them will get those minutes. I can see GG being moved in favor of getting a starting Center or PG. If we are going into "win now" mode, trade GG now and get some help in the front-court. Sometimes you got to risk potential for Wns. As I see it right now this team wants to win today.

I know what you are saying, but can we count on TA? And is just having TA off the bench along with an unproven guys like Pruitt and Ray really a strong bench? With the addition of WAllace it could make things interesting and maybe that is their thinking that Wallace is going to replace Gerald in the rotation, and that Green expendable. I still don't like it though. Green is a big part of our future.

GG has shown to be a bright spot. I would be damned if we traded him and he ended up being the player that we all thought he'll be. Possiblity is there but, at the same time you cannot bury on the bench just becuz you are afraid he might become an all-star on another team. You got to make moves that'll make us better as a team. Quite frankly, if it means taking Mike Bibby back or Ak47 just so we can make the playoffs then by all means do it.
Well, if TA does not return to his original form then trading GG away will be a bust. There is no question about that. But, sometimes you gotta pull the trigger to make opportunities for yourself. Make the move.. live with the consquences later. Right now, we need to win ball-games.
