hoopsworld is way off on some of these rumors if I remember correctly, but Knight would be a great pickup. Sign Knight. Trade Ratliff, Telfair and whatever we can throw in for Camby and Najera and we are done. Make it happen Danny.... www.hoopsworld.com/article_22604.shtml

Why would the Nuggz trade Camby? I just can't figure that out.

they are trying to trade him supposedly. i dont understand it either though. he has a good contract but if they are trying to unload salary ratliff, telfair, gomes and a #1 pick might sway them. signing knight and making a trade like that for camby and najera is best case scenario for us imo, but you are right.

gomes is an upgrade for them over najera. we dont need gomes as much. ratliff, telfair and a #1 for camby is fair.

Do those guys make more than Camby and Najera? If they are trying to dump salary we'll be expected to take some on. If they are just trying to dump salary I'd just send Ratliff, and maybe Telfair, and maybe Powe and Ray cause their salaries are up

telfair and gomes make nothing and their contracts are up after this year. Same with Ratliff. ratliff, gomes and telfair make the same amount as camby and najera. camby's deal just runs longer. Najera is in the deal to make the numbers work and his deal expires after this year.
camby=3 years 8 mil per najera=1 year 5 mil
ratliff=1 year 11.5 mil telfair=1 year 2.5 gomes=1 year 800k
So basically they'd pick up 2 prospects in telfair and gomes who they can keep and a #1 pick and save money.

So since it's just to clear salary just send the 11.5 in exchange for the 13 so they can clear more. Then we clear some too. Instead of sending good players.

they arent going to just dump camby for nothing. why would they do that? camby has a nice contract and is a good player. he's one of the best defensive players in the nba. we would have to give them something of value. we also cant take on additional salary. we are at the cap. the salaries would need to match up. The nuggets are currently over the cap and in luxury tax hell and they need to do something. this would give them the opportunity to do that and pick up something of value to maybe dump kenyon martin on someone else. Getting rid of camby for theo would put them around the cap for next year.

martin is expected back for them next year as well and they have nene, so this would put them around the cap and they can hang onto martin as well and just let him come back. they arent going to trade Camby for nothing though. I'm not saying we have to give up the world for him but we aren't. We are basically giving them our junk anyways and a little something to sweeten the offer. I would do Ratliff, telfair, gomes and a #1 for Camby and Najera in a heartbeat. that would be as far as i would go though. I would guess there are other teams making offers as well. But we probably can make the best offer. The point is Denver is trying to win and they aren't going to trade Camby for nothing. If we can do Ratliff, Telfair and #1 then great. Or Swap Ray or something but I'm guessing they have better offers than that. The reason I put gomes in there is because if we are taking najera they need a replacement and we dont really need gomes. We have 15 players currently if im not mistaken so doing a 3 for 2 makes some sense.

I thought they were trying to just dump salary so they could sign guys. Maybe cheaper guys. I guess they think nobody would trade for Nene or Kenyon Martin. if they want to win trading Camby isn't the way to do it.

yes they do. but they arent going to give camby away. someone will make a better offer than us. Because Kobe wants out of LA are the lakers going to give him away? Kobe could hold them hostage and say i'm not playing for you and the lakers would still want something for kobe and they would get it. Camby is under contract with Denver and is one of the best defensive players there are. They are going to get something for him. If it were Ben Wallace and he was a free agent and just signed with someone else that would be different. Camby is their property and Denver doesnt have to do anything.

Thats a good point but Martin is coming off an injury and would be tough to trade right now. Nene is good. I can understand why Denver would unload them instead but considering Camby's age and limitations and value, it would make sense that he would be the guy they trade. They have committed to Nene and Martin imo. they gave them each 11 mil for the next several years. They are also younger. If you are denver making a choice it seems like CAmby is more expendable to me and I can see why Denver would choose to go with a core of AI, Melo, Martin and Nene.

Man, did Kiki fudge up when he threw that max contract at Kenyon Martin. That guy has everything going against him. Wildly overrated? Yup. Locker room cancer? Uh-huh. Serious injury concerns? Check.
K-Mart is easily the worst contract in basketball. Could he be the worst in sports? THat be tough, since baseball is full of bad contracts.

The longer we do nothing the more i believe that we will end up with Krilenko.Utah wants to move him and Danny is under the gun to make another high profile move.
