We need to trade Pierce

and get out of the mode of trying to hang on to the past. The lottery drawing screwed us again. Look I am against taking Yi because frankly, I doubt he can play. He is most likely to bust.

I think a lot of pressure on the Celtics will be relieved once Pierce is out of here and we can go about solving our problems internally and finding out who wants to play for the Celtics.

Things simply are not working out for Danny Ainge.

Danny Ainge, do the right thing and put Pierce on the auction block.

I kind of agree Q at this point. I really like Pierce and would like to give him a shot though. But I really like that Chicago trade where we get Gordon, Duhon, Thomas and Thabo. We should be building around Jefferson. I still think we might want to give Pierce and Al a chance though to see what they can do. This team isn't that far off. Pierce has a lot of heart and wants to win and if this team is competitive he is the type of guy who would probably really show up.

It's becoming more and more real with the possiblity of trading Pierce with each day passing. No superstar wants to join this franchise at all. We're better starting from scratch with Big Al / GG/ Rondo being the players to build around this franchise. Only way we'll be able to get back to respectable status is by getting the right young talent groomed together in order to start a winning program.

Definitely going to be a hectic offseason for this franchise for the next couple weeks especially if Ainge can't get anything done in order to keep PP around.

If rumors are true and Pierce is threatening to go public with a trade demand, I'd warn him to clam up and let the team try and get a good deal for him.
If he goes public, let him sit and rot.
I'm tired of the multi-millionaire's bitching and moaning when they're the ones being paid to lead their team and make them winners and they can't
yes the team has to try harder to win, but Pierce has to be realistic about last year.
Injuries did this team in and they had a rotten year.
He must be able to see the improvements Al made, how well Allen was playing and how good Rondo is looking for a rookie.
Jermaine O'Neal and the guaruntee that he's gonna miss 20 games a year is not the answer.

I like Pierce and think it would be great if he could retire a Celtic, but if he is issuing an ultimatim to Danny, I would rather Danny trade Pierce than give up our future for a one or 2 year window of opportunity to please Pierce.

yeah I dont agree with pierce. trading the pick for a vet isn't necessarily best for the team. it obviously depends on what it is. I hate the idea of trading jefferson even its for garnett, just to appease pierce. i would much rather use the pick and trade pierce if thats the case.

I am somewhat tired of the players giving ultimatums to management about time, trades, etc. The players play the game, management doesn't.

thats pierce putting himself ahead of the team imo. I understand Pierce wants to win and have a chance to win and he's frustrated and thats understandable but that's what the C's are trying to do ultimately i would hope. The C's are refuting that story and saying there is no such ultimadem so we will see I guess. I would hope Pierce would be better than that and keep that stuff behind closed doors and let the C's get a good trade if needs be instead of forcing that.

Pierce has no options out in his contract clause. We do not have to trade him if we choose not to. I just hope this doesn't explode in our faces like the Ai did with Philly.

Cedric Maxwell thinks we should trade pierce to dallas for some of their young guns. I think he said he wanted Devin Harris, and Josh Howard. He also thought we should take Yi. He also stated that getting garnett would just be a bandage. He said the goal is to win the championship, not just to win the eastern conference. Maxwell was very candid, also thought Al jefferson would be the next Moses Malone. I see that comparison. Good low post moves, and physical, and loves to bang down low. He said in 2 -3 years this will be Big Al's team, and that trading pierce now would be wise, because his trade value might not be higher.

I agree with Maxwell especially if we trade with Dallas getting Howard/Harris back in the deal. Both would be starters on this team along with Big Al/Yi being our starting front-court.

Young team... probably wont' win much but definitely a starting point for this franchise to rebuild. Never know, maybe howard becomes the next PP and Jeffersone becomes Moses. But, only time will tell.

We have to keep the kernel of the team (PP,BigAL,DW,GG)and try to catch some all-star caliber in night of the draft and try to reach the east finals ... that is not imposible.
