i second to that loy, no need to lose your cool because we will be relevant anyway. i'm anxious to see how jefferson and rondo (and hopefully green and the draft pick) will improve next season.
seattle is hellhole and with the marketing money that comes his way, durant will be gone from seattle in 3 years. portland is gonna be too young for too many years and it altohough they will compete eventually, boston will be better sooner
go green...

U guys are killin me,sheez!!!!! NO GREEN KOOL AID HERE my other green fans. I feel like Jor-El(superman's father) tryin 2tell the council on krypton that the planet's gonna explode and no1s listenin . This pitono thing has gone way out of hand. Just because pitino failed doesn't mean that we should NEVER hire a hot college prospect again. We've not won a title since '86 and we've had coaches like chris ford, m.l carr, and john carroll, but no1 is sayin that we shouldn't hire former Cs players as coaches or former players as coaches, but no1 wants 2hire a college coach. Also donavan got a 5yr/28 mill deal, less than 6mill/yr, which is nothin compaired 2what top notch coaches make in 2days NBA. U guys are tellin me that keepin Doc is worth more than gettin a coach w/Donavan's youth, coachin style and his pedigree of success , are u REALLY !!!! If WE'RE the Yankees of basketball like we want 2b in terms of success THESE are the types of chances we would take . Goin after a young successful guy who's the best coachin prospect available . Its gotten 2the point where Orl is outdoin us, >:(ORL!!!!!! The Lakers go after top in coachin and as players, Shaq, Kobe, Phil, and the reason they've gone down hill now is because THEY'RE not doin that anymore, JUST LIKE US. Hear's the kicker guys keep complainin 'bout the 10mill that pitino got, ITS NOT OUR MONEY!!!!!!! Prices are only goin 2go up anyway, better w/donavan or a coach like him than w/o. My green friends our green planet is goin 2melt right in front of our faces , w/a bad coach killin young talent in combo w/the bad fortune we've had in lotterys.

I think Donovan only had his eye on Orlando. For any other team wanting him, he'd require complete control of the team or else no deal. But for the Magic, since its so close to Florida, and because the price was right, he said OK.

Here's the thing Meangreen, I like your passion! However, we've been dealt a hand. Maybe not the Ace/King, but we might still get a pair of 2's which could be enough. If you catch my drift. Doc is def a 2! LOL! We know this, but its time to let it ride because we have no choice. Best of luck to Donovan in Orlando, but he is manning a bum ship too you know. I'd say we have way more talent than Orlando. And so far they have a College coach and a PF/C who is an All-Star. We've got to see what happens in the Summer League and Pre-Season before we start talking like Donovan is already a Playoff Caliber coach and Orlando a Playoff team. I do doubt he'll be anywhere near as bad as Pitino. I think he will do well, but we cant cry over spilled Koolaid! The time to settle down and work with what we got is now!! I'll be damned if I will get myself worked up over a season like last year when we were not firing on all cylinders and when this season hasn't even begun. Talk to me in a few months and maybe I will call you right, but for now, dont you think you are jumping the gun a bit??

Loy and BC I agree with you completely. I think Doc is the weak link on this team. We have some great players and as I reported on Loy's place, Perk, Al, Rondo, Ray and Powe are all in Orlando working hard. Perk is about to break out. Rondo is going to take the next step up. We will have a very good player who can come in and help right away with the 5th pick. I am still hoping for Blatt to sign on as an assistant. That would be excellent. We have the pieces in place and I expect us to surprise a lot of people this season.

We should be able to surprise a lot of people, even if we don't make any significant changes this offseason. As long as we are healthy, we'll have a pretty good team. I would really like to have Blatt here to help Doc out.

I agree Derren. Bringing in Blatt would be the best move Danny could make. Blatt wanted to come so it is up to Danny to make it happen. Now that Brown is gone, that is one obstacle gone.

And it seems like Brown was pushed out of the picture to make room for Blatt. I hope so, anyways.

Loyalist I agree w/part of what u say but as of right now I don't know how u feel, but I feel that the team isn't doin everythin it can 2win . Don't get me wrong 'bout donavan, Im not makin him out 2b somethin he's not. 1st lets start w/donavan he's a young, energetic coach, that coaches an agressive style on O and D. JUST WHAT THIS TEAM NEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!. He's shown that he can coach young talent, his teams have primarily looked like ours does now. He was lookin 2go pro AND has much more upside that Doc EVER will, but our team doesn't see it like that . Doc's been in our coach how long and Donavan already has as many playoff wins as Doc . Basically Im hammerin home again the ur point that u brought up that Doc is a weak link. Yes we've been dealt this hand but we didn't look 2trade any cards(Doc), 2c if we could get some new 1s in Donavan . The way Doc coaches we're goin 2have 2overcome his flaws and the only way 2do that is w/extra-ordinary talent. Ur pair of 2s example is just what Im takin 'bout. Are U happy w/just a pair of 2s? U can't go from ace/king dwn 2a pair of 2s, a pair of 9s or 10s, hell u even have a shot w/8s, but not 2s !!!!!! That's like takin a knife 2a gun fight and that's what we're doin w/the combo of doc and young, unproven talent. I would say personally that Orl and our talent are comperable, no1 can say 1team is significantly better than the other, its close, but uve given the edge 2us and Im not goin 2fight u on that . All this adds up 2what does this team have right now that excites u 2think that next yr will be a lot better than this yr and Im not talkin 'bout squeekin in the playoffs in a weak conf by the skin of our teeth. Im talkin 'bout makin u think that "wow, this team is unstoppable when healthy " It won't be just the #5 pk and Doc @the helm, not 4me it won't. Now 2b in fantasy land just 'cause u say I might be jumpin the gun a little, if we get kobe and the #5pk or are able 2keep pierce w/kobe, now that's a monumental, significant, drastic, whatever u wanna call it upgrade, then yeah, I jumped the gun . If we get J O'Neil, KG, somethin like that w/the #5 and/or pierce, then yeah I jumped the gun Otherwise, its goin 2b a similar season 2last yr even when healthy/w Doc @the helm. He's coachin good talent 2play the wrong system . This isn't spilled cool aid my loyal green friends, WE spilled this kool-aide by sittin on our hands keepin doc, not bein aggressive and gettin a hot prospect coach 2give some energy and much needed life 2this organization(donavan) AND some bad breaks in the draft lottery(#5pk) We just can't con't 2have all 3of these factors against us AND think we're goin 2have breakthrough yrs.

I've been there way too many times with an Ace/King against a pair of 2's and lost, so I guess I am jaded, but in any event, meangreen, we do have to wait to see how a healthy team plays despite Doc. I understand that a coach can make an impact on how players produce, but I also know that sometimes players transcend a coach to be successful. A perfect example was when Doc was coach of the year in Orlando!! That was not because of Doc's coaching, I will say that right now.
Trust me, we all want to see nothing less than production out of whoever we take with the 5th or trade moves that get us a player to compliment PP. So, my point is just not to get worked up so early until we see what moves are made from the draft up until the season. I got bummed out on over the Lottery not going our way and thought fatalistically about our future because of the prospect of getting Oden or Durant ending, but things that I cannot control have ceased to get me down.
And we cannot predict what our future is, even though we have the past failure to gauge it by. History is just that, the future is yet to be written. One thing the people on this board are good about, is holding off on anger and judgment until something happens. IMHO, that is the best way to handle stressful situations that we cannot control.
