Wolves inbound on the side. Ricky takes it to the basket and ran over Al ... should have been an offensive foul but no call ... make up call for when they only gave him 2 shots last time. West gets the rebound and is fouled. West hits both FTs. Celtics up 122 -117. Ricky misses a jumper and Gomes rebounds. PP is fouled with 6.1 seconds left in the 2nd OT. PP rattles in the first. swishes the second. Ricky's shot with 1.7 misses and goes out of bounds. Celtics inbound and the clock runs out.
Final score in double OT is Celtics 124 and Minnesota 117..... 4 GAME WIN STREAK!!!! More than missing out on the #1 pick, I hope this doesnt mean Doc stays after the season.

Delonte, Pierce, Green, Gomes, JEfferson is looking more and more like a very nice core. Throw in Rondo, Allen, Scal and Perk and we have a pretty good rotation. I'm not really concerned if we don't get the #1 pick.

Guys like Delonte and Gomes and Al J aren't just keeping us in games now. They're winning them for us. Now guys that were just add ons like GG and Rondo are helping us stay in the games and maybe next year they'll win some for us.

Add a solid starting center this team should be very good next year.

Perk can be that solid starting center. People are selling him short because of the injuries but if he can come in next season healthy I think he will have a break out year similar to Al's this year.

I agree FL. I still like Perk a lot. It wasn't a long time ago he looked like an easy 10-15 boards a game guy, 10 points and 3 bpg. He could still be that.

Almost every box shows some encouraaging stat on the part of at leasst one of the kids---usually more. I'm less impressed with AJ aveeraging double digits in scoring since the AS game than doing so in rebounds. Greene is routinely scoring in double digits with decent shotting %. Rajon isn't hitting in double digits on anything often, but routinely gets a good number of assists.
Team rebounds are regularly a good number, and routinely outrebound the other team. Today by 30!!!!
I think Gomes is a backup player. But he puts up some good stats occasionally---like today!!
Perkins is still an unknown. Has struck me as a tough kid before now, and he looks to be even tougher for playing with a bad foot. lots of ways that toughness can help a team without putting up numbers.

How come no one said we should fire Doc? Oh, wait a minute, the Celtics won. Yeah.

Another good win with plenty of clutch plays by our emerging "youngsters." Of course, coming against Davis and Blount makes it twice as sweet!
A few more games like this, and people may stop saying Ainge over-values his draft picks.

Good going for the Celtics earning a 4 game winning streak and beating Mark Blonuts team. I just got back into town missing the two weekend OT wins. This is how a team grows.
I still say Doc needs to be replaced at the end of the season.

Im starting to lean towards replacing Doc. Not that he is a bad coach, because I don't think he is, I think a lot of this is just inexperience, but I don't think he's a great coach either. I listen to some of the stuff he says and I just don't think he fully gets it sometimes. But I dont necessarily think he can't get it either. He seems to have an open mind and is learning like everyone else is. I thought it was funny he said during hte press conference the other day how during games he'll look to tommy for advice sometimes, which is pretty cool, although he was joking about the officials and saying tommy gets him in trouble more times than not. The thing with Doc is he is slow to get it sometimes. I like the lineups he's been putting out there of late, but it just seems like it takes him a while to figure it out. He tinkers with these lineups way too much sometimes until he finally settles on something that works. It's almost like he falls into the best lineup and tries everything else that doesn't work first until he gets it.
Anyways I think these close games are great experience, and these past couple I've liked what I've seen. We are starting to turn these close games into wins and we are making the right plays down the stretch. I still don't see why people knock Delonte. He comes up big for us game after game it seems. Sometimes he makes mistakes but who doesn't? I still say he is by far our best pg.
At this point I'd really like us to keep the core unit of West, Pierce, Green, Gomes, JEfferson. Hopefully guys like Rondo, Powe, Perk will start to contribute more and more. Same with Green. Scal is a decent spot player. Telfair still sucks but hopefully he can do the same. I think once Allen comes back it's going to be really tough to get Telfair time. Same with Wally. I still think we have the pieces to bea very good team with experience. We do need to add another big guy imo, but we aren't that far off.
