On the locker room wall is the front cover of the Globe with Ricky and Blount celebrating after their win in Minny.
Perk, Scal, pierce, Al, West starting.
Minny wins the tip. Hassell misses a jumper from the corner and comes up limping after being fouled by Perk. He misses both FTs. Perk misses a hook shot over Blount. Scal misses the tip and Wolves come away with it. Garnett hits a jumper with 1 sec on the SC. PP misses a jumper from the top of the key and is fouled. He hits both FTs. Blount gets the ball inside and gave 2 upfakes and then lays it in. Perk misses a hook shot in the lane. Garnett h its a jumper. PP hits a 3 from the top of the arc. Wolves miss and Celtics rebound. Scal misses a 3. Al rebounds and misses the put back. Wolves rebound. Garnett hits a jumper. Al hits a jumper with 2 on the SC. Garnett misses a layup as Perk plays him well. Celtics rebound. West misses a jumper. Wolves rebound. Hudson hits a 3. Scal is fouled as he backs in on McCants. Hassell twisted his ankle and his return is questionable. PP's shot goes in and out. Perk picks up his second foul on the rebound. Gomes comes in for Perk. Hudson hits a jumper. Scal misses an open 3. McCants rebounds. Ricky misses a runner in the lane and Al rips away the rebound. PP hits a jumper. Garnett called for travelling. Time out with Minny up by 13-10 and 5:39 left in the 1st

Celtics miss a jumper from the corner and Al gets the rebound and put back. Ricky hits a jumper. Pierce thinks about a 3 and then passes inside to Al who misses a hook shot but Pierce comes in for the tip in. Garnett's shot is short and Al grabs the rebound. Gomes hits a jumper. McCants called for an offensive foul as Al takes a hard charge. West misses from the FT line. Garnett with the rebound. Hudson hits a 3. PP misses and Garnett rebounds. Blount called for a travel as he goes up against Al for a layup. West splits the defense and gets inside and kicks out to Gomes for an open jumper. Garnett fouled by Scal. Time out with 2:20 left in the first and Game tied at 18

Celtics dance team doing their thing on the floor. Garnett hits both FTs. Rondo in for the Celts. Scal misses a jumper but Rondo is there for the weak side rebound and put back. Hudson misses on the baseline and Gomes grabs the rebound. Scal misses a 3 and Hudson rebounds. I wish Scal would stop shooting. Hudson misses a deep 3. Gomes hustles in for the rebound. Scal with a bad pass inside and Al can't get to it. Gomes tips the ball out of bounds. Wolves inbound with 12 on the SC. Rondo with a steal. PP takes it inside and then throws it away. Scal with his 3rd foul. Wolves inbound with 8 on the SC. Green comes in and guards Ricky who misses a jumper and Al grabs the rebound at the buzzer. Score is tied at 20 at the end of 1.
Dickerson said that Blount wouldn't talk to any Celtics reporters before the game but Ricky was happy to talk to all of them. He bought tickets for his Buckets Brigade to attend the game. I still really like Ricky and think he got a bum rap in Boston just as he has other places. He always gave us 110% in games and I think the reports about his mocking pierce were just started to make the trade look better for Ainge. Ricky denied ever doing anything like that.

Powe, Rondo, Gomes, Scal and Green on the floor. Celtics inbound to start the 2nd. Green turns it over. Scal picks up a foul. That is his 3rd. I miscounted before. Perk comes in for Scal. Davis is fouled by Green. Ricky hits both FTs Powe gets the ball inside and misses the shot. Wolves rebound. Jaric called for a foul on Powe. Celtics inbound. Wolves playing zone defense. 3 second violation on the Celtics. Davis throws it away trying to find Blount inside. Green misses on the baseline and Perk gets the rebound. He misses the put back and Powe gets the rebound and misses the put back. Jaric called for a foul. Celtics inbound. Gomes hits a jumper. Jaric misses from the corner. Powe grabs the rebound from Blount and Blount is called for a foul. Celtics inbound. Celtics turn it over and Foye gets an easy layup at the other end. Gomes misses and Green flies in and tries to slam the rebound back in and it bounces back to Gomes who is fouled. He hits the first and misses the second and Powe grabs the rebound. Blount knocks the ball away and Foye misses a jumper. Time out with 8:52 left in the half and Wolves up 24-23

Green misses on the baseline and Gomes grabs the rebound in traffic and draws the foul. He hits both FTs. Green and Rondo pressing in the backcourt. Blount misses and Green rebounds. Rondo misses a jumper in the paint and Gomes tips it in. Powe called for a foul as he muscles Garnett on the baseline. Wolves inbound. Blount misses a jumper. Green rebounds. Ricky called for a foul on Gomes. Gomes goes to the line and hits both FTs. Garnett misses a jumper. Long rebound comes out to James. He misses a jumper Garnett rebounds and Powe blocks Garnetts putback. Celtics ball. Green hits a 3. Time out with 5:48 left in the second and Celtics up 35-24

Gomes gets the inbounds pass and hits a jumper off the catch. Hudson misses a 3 and Al is called for a foul on the rebound. Garnett at the line. He hits both FTs. West called for a double dribble. Good old Violet Palmer made the call. Green called for a foul. Celtics are over the limit and Hudson goes to the line. He hits both FTs. West passes out of pressure. Wolves playing zone. Pierce has it stripped. Garnett hits a jumper and Wolves retake the lead. Green goes hard to the basket and is fouled by Blount Time out with 2:49 left in the half and Wolves up 38-37

Green misses a 3 from the corner Wolves rebound. Ricky misses and PP rebounds. Blocking foul on Ricky as PP drives to the basket. Wolves over the limit and PP is at the line. He back rims the first. Hits the second. Garnett misses from the FT line and PP rebounds. Celtics miss a jumper and Garnett rebounds. Smith hits a jumper. PP tries to spin past Reed and Reed ties him up for a jump ball. PP wins the tip. Al shoots it on the catch and Wolves rebound. Hudson loses it. PP passes inside to Green on the break who fumbles it but recovers and then dunks it. Wolves looking for the final shot. Reed hits a jumper. PP misses a half court shot at the buzzer. Score at the half is Wolves 43 and Celtics 42.

At the half, Dickerson was talking to Steve Bulpett. He discussed what he said were the two parts of the Celtics long time future and that is Al and Green.
I love the commercial for the Kia Rondo .... Experience Giddyupedness --- Experience Rondoism. Could that be more perfect?
We are out rebounding the Wolves 27 to 15 and are out hustling them and if we could shoot better than 33%, we would be leading.
I really like Ricky. He reached over and tapped Tommy on his way past. He just always looks like he is having fun out there. I wish Danny would have kept him and just traded Blount for Kandi.

Powe has played 5 minutes and has 2 rebs. I think in 5 mins he had 3 rebs last game. Does anyone else suspect he may lead the league in rebs/48 mins?

Jaric hits both FTs. PP drives to the basket and loses it in traffic. jaric takes it to the basket and lays it down for a Ricky dunk Hudson called for a foul on West. PP hits a jumper. Blount gets the ball inside and dunks it to a chorus of boos. PP drives baseline and throws it away. Ricky D lays it in and is fouled by West. He completes the 3 point play. Gomes misses a tough jumper on the baseline and is fouled by Ricky. Gomes hits both FTs. Garnett hits a jumper from the top of the key. Al lays it down to West who cuts to the basket and lays it in. Wolves miss a jumper and Al hits a hook shot in the lane over Blount. Ricky travels with the ball. Gomes misses a jumper. Garnett gets the rebound inside. Blount is getting booed every time he touches the ball. They aren't booing Ricky, which is as it should be.
Pierce's shot is way off. You can see that he doesn't have his legs under him and can't get any lift on his jumper.

Powe is incredible every time he gets in the game. He had 3 rebounds and 2 steals in 5 minutes last game. and 2 in 3 minutes today. He takes charges and defends inside. Doc leads the league in being an idiot for not playing this kid. |
