I once watched him score 9 points in 13 seconds at the end of a game. Green has been often been compared to McGrady. Notes. The Rockets are on the second of back to back games. They have been playing very well though and it will be hard to get a win here.  to the Game:We need to take care of the ball. We can't win turning the ball over 23 times. We have to be aggressive. We have to go after loose balls, crash the boards, and take the ball to the basket. Hit our shots. We have been shooting a very poor percentage for the most part lately and we have got to hit our shots if we want to win. Get a new coach. |

Houston got a lot better trading Stromile Swift and draft rights to Rudy Gay to Memphis for Shane Battier and Memphis took a precipitous drop in the standings.

Jeff Van Gundy's team are mostly halfcourt oriented. We have to try our best to prevent them from executing their plays. We need to get out and run and tire those guys out, but then again, Doc is our coach and he doesn't like the team running.
Gerald will get to go up against his hero Tracy McGrady. Hope he is up to the challenge and willing to prove himself against his hero.

They just announced that McGrady won't play tonight because of flu-like symptoms so finally the Celtics catch a break.
We have the Rockets feed tonight. ugh. Powe is starting tonight again according to the pregame show. But Doc insists on starting Scal at center. He should be starting Powe at PF, Al at C, Gomes at SF, and PP at SG. I'd also like to see Rondo start at PG and bring West & Scal off the bench for some offense on the second unit. But that seems to make too much sense so I doubt Doc would do it.

Al, Powe, Scal, West, and PP starting for the Celtics. Scal is NOT a starting center. Perk, even with one foot is better than Scal. And even Kandi would be better than Scal. We need a starting center who will crash the boards and block shots and intimidate in the paint instead of wander around the arc hoping for a 3.
Al jumping center. Al tips the ball to Powe. West brings it up. PP called for a charge as he drives into the lane. Battier takes it to the basket and misses. Powe tips the rebound out to Scal. Scal misses a 3 from the corner. rebound goes out off Houston. West misses a jumper and Rockets rebound. Wells takes it to the basket, lays it in and draws the foul on Scal. Wells hits the FT. Al is fouled by Motumbo. Celtics inbound on the side. PP misses a jumper from the FT line and Motumbo rebounds. Wells is fouled by Scal and will go to the line. Wells hits the first. Gomes comes in for Scal. Wells hits the second. Gomes misses from the corner. Powe rebounds. PP misses a long 3. Alston rebounds. Wells misses a jumper and rebound is knocked out off Boston. Howard misses a jumper at the SC. Gomes rebounds. Celtics miss and Powe is called for a foul on the rebound. Rockets miss a layup and the tip in and Al rebounds. Powe called for a charge. Rockets rebound. Battie misses a 3. PP rebounds. Gomes gets the ball inside and lays it in and draws the foul. Gomes is wearing a head band. Not used to seeing him with one. gomes hits the FT. Celtics with a steal but throw it away. Violet is one of the refs... we won't get any of the calls tonight. She is the worst ref in the NBA. Rockets inbound on the baseline. Battier misses and Green gets the rebound. Gomes called for a charge. Rockets miss a 3 and Gomes is called for a foul on the rebound. Time out with 3:29 left in the 1st and Rockets up 11-9

PP misses and Rockets rebound. Wells is fouled and misses the first hits the second FT. 3 second defensive violation on the Rockets. Technical foul called on VanGundy. PP hits one of 2 T's Celtics inbound with 18 on the SC. Green misses a layup and misses the tip in. JakeT rebounds. Howard hits a jumper. PP misses a jumper in the lane. Al rebounds. Al misses a jumper over JakeT. Howard draws the foul on Al and goes to the line. He hits the first and Kandi comes in. He hits the second. PP drives to the basket, lays it in and draws the foul. At first they call Rockets ball and then change it. Celtics inbound. West misses a 3. Rebound goes out off Rockets. Celtics inbound with a fresh 24. Scal misses a 3 and Scal is called for a foul on the rebound. Al comes in for Kandi. Travel called on Hayes. Boston is 0-8 in the 2nd. Al loses the ball. Rockets miss a fast break layup. They won't get such a good pick for Chicago. Well, I do have a bit of good news, Nix win 99-93 in a good one OVER Miami. That helps their playoff cause. And it helps us for Isiah to retain his job. |
