vs Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers December 13, 2006 7:00 PM TV: FSN, NBALP Radio: WRKO Records Sixers: 5-15 (Lost 8) Celtics: 7-13 (Won 2) Probable Starters: Celtics Telfair/ Wally/ Pierce/ Gomes/ JeffersonSixers Ollie/Igoudala/Carney/Webber/DalembertThe Herald said that barring complications Wally will play tomorrow and so I assume that Doc will put him back into the starting lineup. Keys to the game:Don't take the Sixers for granted. We seem to play down to teams that we should beat. We can't take them for granted and expect an automatic win. We need to give effort for 48 minutes. We seem to either come out flat and get in a hole and spend the rest of the game catching up or come out on fire, build a lead, and then spend the rest of the game losing that lead. Defense. Defense. Defense. We need to play defense every game, all game. Defense is the key to winning. Big play from the bigs. Al, Scal and hopefully Powe have to play well and stay out of foul trouble. Al said that the trade rumors have motivated him and lets hope that continues. If we take this game seriously and play 48 minutes and play defense, we may have a 3 game road winning streak.

Give Big Al the ball. They stayed away from Al in the last game (vs. the Knicks) because Pierce was hot in the 1st quarter. But the rule of thumb is get the big men going early (according to Kareem's rules).

We have the Celtics feed tonight and that is great! I hate having to listen to the other team's announcers. We have to be very careful not to underestimate the Sixers. They are a dangerous team right now and without Iverson, they have a much more balanced offense and they are desperate for a win.
Wally will play tonight but won't start. He will be coming off the bench.

I like having Tony in the starting rotation. When he's on his game, his slashing and athleticism gives our starting rotation a different wrinkle.

A bit of a sluggish start after the Celtics opened with 2 quick baskets. Philly went on a 15-6 run as the offense runs through Webber high post and the cutters are getting past Boston defenders and Webber is finding 'em. The Celtics have gotten sloppy and not taking their best shot.

Green is the Sixers Green.. If Gerald comes in I will call him GG just to differentiate. PP misses and Iggy rebounds. Iggy takes it coast to coast and lays it in. Tony takes it to the basket and lays it in. Ollie hits a jumper. PP turns it over. Iggy takes it to the basket and lays it in. Dalembert blocks Al's shot and Sixers rebound. Webber buries a jumper and time out is called with 4:19 left in the first. Sixers are up 23-12. We are not taking them serious enough. It is yet another game where we get down big early and will spend the rest of the game catching up

It is getting worse as Philly knocks down outside shots and Jefferson can't get off. Pierce hasn't shown up either, Maybe Wally baby can do something. Celtics fall behind by 11.

Q at the qtr - There are a lot of favorable Celtics matchups out there if only they stop making the silly mistakes like Gerald Green's blunder pass to D West.
Webber cannot stay with Gomes.... Nobody can stay with Pierce.... Jefferson matches up favorably with Dalembert.... Tony Allen is too quick for his man......
I suspect there are more matchups that can work for us.

I ilike the way Gomes and Al play together. Maybe Perk should have to beat out Al at center when he comes back.

Play has fallen apart here but Gerald Green did a very good job defending Kyle Korver.
The Celtics continue to commit silly turnovers and Philly is following suit. These look like two bottom feeder teams.
